Zeya's pov

The clock will strike half past twelve in a few seconds. The second's hand has a few more rounds left to do. I grow impatient with each second.

Physics class has been going on for eternity. I had purposely sat at the back to not draw anymore attention on myself after miserably failing this paper.

The bell rings, letting us know our end of distress. I jump out of my seat and fly out of the door. Aster will meet me at the cafeteria after her history class. My hatred for physics keeps growing day by day.

I get to my locker to put my books back. Close the metal box with a thump, which rattles every time I put force on it. There's no need for me to torture it, but I can't simply go and punch someone in their face.

I couldn't get a wink of sleep last night. I wasn't only tired but irritated at everything, and the reason was a certain someone.

I might have told him to meet me today after school. But it was my rage speaking. I couldn't think properly in his presence, and I hate that.

There was no way out of it. I have to face him again. I got to the cafeteria and Aster was already waiting for me at the table.

I quickly get something to eat, not having much of an appetite. The plastic plates on which the school cafeteria serves always look sad. As if we were being served at a hospital. These foods could be a bit more colourful, but their lack of colour resembles my colourless, flavourless life. Such a coincidence.

The fries on my plate make me lose my appetite. Even though I didn't have much of a breakfast in the morning. I poke them with my fork, pushing it to a side. I guess I have to work the rest of the day with an apple.

"Zeya"

"Zeya"

I snap out of it. In front of me, Aster is staring at me with a worried expression.

"I had been calling you for the last two minutes, but you were busy poking at your soggy fries. You haven't even taken a bite of it. Are you okay? You look pale."

" Sorry, I made you worried. It was late last night when I got back. Didn't get much of a sleep."

"So? What happened there? I know something did happen, and that's why your mind has reached the Milky Way, physically leaving you behind. Spill it."

She knows me way too well for only being friends for three years. I am also an air head who can't seem to hide it when concerned about something.

I laugh at her, trying to play it cool, but she looks at me with a serious face. I look at my watch. We still have fifteen minutes to spare before lunch break ends.

" Okay. You remember how I told you about the bustop incident." She nods her head.

"The guy was no other than the Stryer himself. The host's son. And the host being the owner of the Stryer corporation. And I might've called him a thief in front of a few people."

Her eyes are ready to pop out at the last sentence. She starts laughing hysterically.

" Zeya, you've gone and done it. He might've taken your hanky, but he wasn't a thief."

I take a sip from my juice. All the talking has made me thirsty. "I know. It was a spur of the moment as I was flabbergasted upon seeing him at a place like that. Never in my life had I thought of seeing the dude again."

" I get it what you mean, but did you sort things out, or did you run away like you mostly do."

" I kinda did and kinda not." I give her a toothy smile as my apology. Knowing she would hit me as I was afraid of confrontation. But how do I even tell her the rest of it.
