(Abdo is cornered by Mafia and his gang, who demand the Shockwave Gem.)
Abdo: Let's talk this through, guys! I'm sure I've got a perfectly good explanation to what I was tryna do. I'll get to that once we put the guns down and talk!
Mafia: I've already made myself clear: either I take the gem, or I take it over your dead body.
Abdo: Well, in that case, (gasps) Oh no, not the cops!
(Mafia and his gang turn to see what they're about to deal with, but they see nothing, and once they turn around, they don't see Abdo, who has used this opportunity to run for it.)
Abdo: (while running) I'm so screwed! I'm so so so screwed! My only hope's that Mafia and his guys have as much speed as Huraib's when solving a 100-question test...
Mania: (standing in Abdo's way) Desperate trick.
Abdo: ... which they don't.
Misery: Just make this easier for yourself and give us the gem.
Abdo: I need this for something. It's definitely worth more than your plan with it.
Mischief: And what would that be?
Abdo: I need this thing to get outta here and find my friends! That's what!
Mafia: You think I care?
Abdo: (in disappointment) Of course you don't.
Mafia: Any last words?
Abdo: Can I have a minute to think about it? I wasn't planning on dying recently. Oh no, not the cops!
Mafia: You don't expect me to fall for the same trick twice, do you?
Abdo: Just look!
(The police sirens go on, and they swarm the area. A variant of Omar dressed in police uniform steps out of a car, to Abdo's bewilderment.)
Abdo: Omar?
Mafia: Chief?!
Mania: Forgot to mention it; one of Salem's primary defenses, which were triggered, include a call to the police.
Abdo: Hold on a sec! Maf, you said his name is Chief?!
Mafia: Yeah, there a problem?
Abdo: Of course he wouldn't be in you little gang! His name doesn't start with an "M"; traitor.
Chief: 4 Ms of Crime, you are under arrest! Now hands up! And... (pointing at Abdo) WHO THE HECK IS THIS GUY?! WHY THE HECK DOES HE LOOK EXACTLY LIKE YOU?!
Abdo: Knew it; the use of "heck" is contagious. And seriously, you're a cop, man! Don't just freak out like that! Or perhaps spending time with ABDO 2.0 and Mafia made me forget that meeting someone from another dimension is freaky.
Chief: (to Abdo) Identify yourself!
Abdo: Full disclosure: I'm a variant of Mafia who got himself into a lot of trouble just cuz he wants to get outta this messed-up world, and I was coerced into this heist then betrayed by these jerks! Please arrest them; I'll be so grateful for that.
Chief: Don't talk as if you're out of the woods yet! You're coming with us too, Mafia lookalike!
Mafia: You compare this little runt to me?! Come on; we're still brothers, you know.
