Do I know you?

And it felt like... I never knew him.

Every time his lips curved into that beautiful smile,
The words that spilled from his mouth turned to sugar in no time.
Every hug of his, so gentle and warm,
Filled me with joy, inside and out.

Oh! How his laughter echoed in my heart,
How his every caress made my heart beat, for what it’s worth.

I remember, yes, I remember!
The butterflies I’d get,
The stomach that would squelch,
At just one glance of his perfect face.

Why do I feel empty now?
Why does my soul say he’s not the one I knew and loved?
Is he the same, or have I changed?
