The city lights of New York sparkled below me like a bed of stars.
I love this.
Honestly best feeling is being up in the air and being outside of new york just swinging around.
It was one of those perfect nights where the air was just cool enough to make swinging between skyscrapers exhilarating rather than freezing. I was cruising through the streets, enjoying the feeling of the wind against my face, when I started to notice something peculiar.
I had that familiar itch at the back of my mind—the spidey-sense that tingled like an annoying static charge whenever something was off. I glanced over my shoulder and saw nothing out of the ordinary—just the usual blur of city lights and the occasional pigeon flapping by. But my spider-sense wasn't letting up.
Me: Okay, chill. It's probably just a cat. Or a particularly assertive pigeon.
I shrugged it off and continued swinging. But then the sound of thunder cracked through the sky, and suddenly, the streets below me were illuminated by an eerie blue light. I whipped around, and to my utter surprise, there was Thor—yes, Thor, the God of Thunder—descending from the heavens like a very angry Norse storm cloud.
Me: Whoa, whoa, whoa! That's not a pigeon!
I barely had time to react before Thor landed in front of me with a thunderous boom. His cape billowed dramatically, and his hammer, Mjölnir, was gripped tightly in his hand.
Gosh he definitely had a way to aprear in front of people. Besides how did he know that I just stopped to look around cause of my spidy senses.
Thor: MAN OF SPIDERS!!
Me: Ahh! Hi there, Thor! You're looking... extra sparkly tonight. What's up?
Thor's eyes narrowed, and his voice rumbled like a storm.
Thor: Do not play games with me, Man of Spiders. I am here to put an end to your mischief.
Me: M-Mischief? I don't even know what you're talking about! I was just out for a swing! You know, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man stuff?
Thor wasn't buying it. He raised Mjölnir, and a bolt of lightning crackled from the sky, striking the ground near me. I swung to the side, narrowly avoiding the lightning blast, and began making my way down a side street.
UHHH
FUCK
GOTTA BE CAREFUL HERE
Thor: Do not think you can escape so easily!
I picked up the pace, no one can blame me for that, my spider-sense now in overdrive. The clanking of Thor's armor and the occasional thunderbolt striking the pavement were keeping me on edge. I zipped through alleyways without stopping right when I saw that Thor was not about to have a nice little chat with me, taking sharp turns, and using every bit of my agility to evade Thor's relentless pursuit.
Me: Okay, this is officially not what I had in mind for a casual night out. How did this even happen? And why does Thor look like he's out for blood?
As I darted through the narrow streets, I spotted an old warehouse that seemed like the perfect place to hide. I dove inside, hoping to lose Thor in the maze of crates and shadows. The warehouse was huge, filled with old shipping containers and stacks of dusty boxes.
I huddled behind a stack of crates, trying to catch my breath.
Me: Alright, fuck...., think. You've outsmarted plenty of villains. Thor's just a god with a hammer. How hard can it be?..... very.....
The sound of footsteps echoed through the warehouse, and I peeked around the corner to see Thor storming in, his eyes scanning the area. I just managed to get here and think that everything was alright but nooo... HOW DID THIS EVEN HAPPEN?!
Thor: Come out,Man of SPIDER. We need to settle this. I am not in the mood for games.
Me: I'm really not up for a fight with a Norse god tonight!
I started to make my way through the warehouse, hoping to stay out of sight. The noise of Thor smashing through crates in his search was getting closer and closer. I had to think fast. I spotted a large hanging tarp that might give me some cover.
SERIOUSLY!
WHAT DID I DO?!!!!
I swung up to the tarp and clung to the ceiling, my heart racing. Thor was closing in, his booming voice growing louder as he got closer. Just when I thought I'd be caught, I saw an old ventilation shaft and made a quick decision.
Me: Time to make a hasty exit!
I shot a web at the shaft's cover, yanking it off, and crawled inside. I moved as quietly as possible, my movements muffled by the cramped space.
Thor's voice echoed through the warehouse.
Thor: You cannot hide forever, MAN OF SPIDERS. Come out and face me!
I kept crawling, my spider-sense still tingling as I made my way through the vents. The shaft led outside, and I finally emerged onto the rooftop of the warehouse. I took a deep breath of fresh air, feeling the cool breeze on my face.
Me: Alright, time to get out of dodge.
I swung up into the night sky, putting as much distance between me and Thor as possible. The thunder god's angry roars faded behind me, and I finally allowed myself to relax.
Me: That was way too close. Next time, I'm checking for any divine wrath before I go out for a swing.
I soared over the city, feeling a sense of relief wash over me as I put the warehouse—and Thor's chase—far behind.
At least I hoped so.
Well now I need to know what happened....
