Lyra and her friends stumbled through the corridors, gasping for air. They finally reached a safe room, where they collapsed on the floor, coughing and choking.
"What was that stuff?" Kael asked, his eyes streaming with tears.
Mira shook her head. "I don't know, but we need to get out of here. Now."
They stumbled to their feet and made their way through the winding corridors, trying to put as much distance between themselves and Eira as possible.
But as they walked, Lyra couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. She kept looking over her shoulder, expecting to see Eira or Rykhard guards lurking in the shadows.
"Guys, I think we have a problem," Kaidën said, his voice low and urgent.
Lyra turned to him. "What is it?"
Kaidën hesitated. "I think we have a traitor in our midst. Someone who's been feeding information to Eira and the Rykhards."
Lyra's eyes widened in shock. "Who is it?"
Kaidën shook his head. "I don't know, but we need to find out. Fast."
Mira's face was grim. "We can't trust anyone," she said. "Not even each other."
Lyra felt a chill run down her spine. She had never felt so alone, so vulnerable.
But she knew she couldn't give up. She had to keep fighting, no matter what.
"Let's keep moving," she said. "We'll figure out who the traitor is and stop them."
But as they walked, Lyra couldn't shake the feeling that they were walking into a trap. That the hidden enemy was waiting for them, ready to strike.
As they journeyed deeper into the heart of the empire, Lyra couldn't shake the feeling that they were being herded towards some unknown fate. She kept looking over her shoulder, expecting to see the traitor lurking in the shadows.
But every time she turned around, there was no one there.
"Lyra, what's wrong?" Kael asked, noticing her unease.
Lyra hesitated. "I don't know," she said. "I just feel like we're being watched."
Kael's expression turned serious. "We need to be careful," he said. "We don't know who we can trust."
Mira nodded in agreement. "We need to keep moving," she said. "We can't let fear paralyze us."
But as they walked, Lyra couldn't shake the feeling that they were walking into a trap. She kept thinking about Eira's betrayal, wondering if there were others like her, waiting to strike.
Suddenly, Kaidën stopped in his tracks. "What's that?" he whispered, pointing to a faint noise in the distance.
Lyra's heart skipped a beat as she listened. It sounded like the sound of armor, the clanking of swords.
"We need to hide," Mira whispered, grabbing Lyra's arm.
But it was too late. A group of Rykhard guards emerged from the shadows, their eyes fixed on Lyra and her friends.
"Ah, Lyra," one of them sneered. "We've been waiting for you."
Lyra drew her sword, ready to face whatever lay ahead. But as she looked around, she realized that they were surrounded. The guards had them trapped.
And then, she saw him. The traitor. Standing behind the guards, a sly smile spreading across his face.
"Who is it?" Lyra demanded, her sword trembling with rage.
The traitor stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with triumph.
"It's me," he said. "Kael."
Lyra's world went dark.
