Lyra's eyes narrowed as she listened to Arin's words. She couldn't shake the feeling that he was hiding something.

"What do you mean, 'the empire's plans'?" she asked, her voice firm.

Arin hesitated, glancing around nervously. "I shouldn't have said that," he muttered. "It's not safe."

Ava stepped forward, her hand on the hilt of her sword. "Tell us," she growled. "What do you know?"

Arin swallowed hard, his eyes darting between the women. "I know that the empire is planning a massive attack on the rebellion," he said finally. "They're going to crush you all."

Mira's eyes widened in horror. "When?" she whispered.

Arin shook his head. "I don't know," he said. "But it's soon. You have to be careful."

Lyra's mind raced with possibilities. This was the information they needed to stay one step ahead of the empire.

But as she looked at Arin, she couldn't shake the feeling that he was still hiding something.

"Why are you telling us this?" she asked, her voice cold.

Arin's eyes dropped, his voice barely above a whisper. "Because I'm a traitor," he said. "I've been working against the empire for months."

Lyra's eyes widened in shock. A traitor? Working against the empire?

"But why?" Lyra asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Why would you betray the empire?"

Arin's eyes flashed with anger. "Because of what they did to my family," he spat. "Because of what they've done to so many innocent people."

Mira's eyes softened. "I'm sorry," she said. "We had no idea."

Arin's expression hardened. "You don't know anything about me," he said. "But I'm willing to risk everything to help you bring down the empire."

Lyra studied Arin's face, searching for any sign of deception. But all she saw was determination and pain.

"Okay," she said finally. "We'll trust you. But if you're lying to us..."

Arin nodded. "I know," he said. "I'll do whatever it takes to make things right."

As they continued to talk, Lyra realized that Arin's information was more valuable than she had ever imagined. He knew the empire's plans, their weaknesses, and their secrets.

But she also knew that trusting him was a risk. A risk that could cost them everything.

As they journeyed on, Lyra couldn't shake the feeling that Arin was hiding something. She tried to push the thought aside, focusing on the task at hand.

But the feeling only grew stronger.

"Arin, can I talk to you for a minute?" Lyra asked, pulling him aside.

"Sure, what's up?" Arin replied, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"It's just...I don't know if I can trust you," Lyra said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Arin's expression changed, a flicker of hurt crossing his face. "I understand," he said. "But I'm telling you the truth. I want to help you bring down the empire."

Lyra studied his face, searching for any sign of deception. But all she saw was sincerity.

"Okay," she said finally. "I believe you."

Arin nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Thank you," he said.

But as they returned to the others, Lyra couldn't shake the feeling that she had just made a terrible mistake.

As they approached the rebellion's hideout, Lyra's nerves grew tighter. What would they find? Would they be met with resistance or relief?

The hideout came into view, a nondescript building in the heart of the city. Lyra's heart pounded as they entered, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of danger.

But instead of resistance, they were met with cheers. The rebels, led by a grizzled old warrior named Marcus, welcomed them with open arms.

"Lyra, you've done it," Marcus said, his voice gruff with emotion. "You've brought us the information we need to take down the empire."

Lyra smiled, feeling a sense of pride and relief. They had done it. They had actually done it.

But as they celebrated, Lyra couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. That something was watching them from the shadows, waiting for its moment to strike.

And then, she saw it. A figure, lurking in the corner of the room. A figure she knew all too well.

"Kael," she whispered, her heart racing with fear.
