Chapter 1

It had been years since Zim came to earth, Dib was turning 18 soon and they had one more year of skool left before college. Dib didn't find Zim much of a threat anymore but occasionally had to stop his plans before they got too far. Honestly the little alien was kinda cute sometimes, if he didn't want to destroy the planet Dib would almost consider da- no what was he thinking? Zim was his enemy, nothing else! Dib shook his head from his thoughts and he tried to pay attention, it was his last class of the day but it was oh so boring, math, Dib with his big head (jk) could calculate in his head easily and figured out most of the equations before they were explained. Dibs brown eyes slowly drifted over to Zim who sat in the front, two desks to the right. Zim was writing something down and had his tongue sticking out a little while focusing, he snickered quietly to himself and kept writing. Dib smiled a little Zim was pretty cute when he was- wait a minute he's planning something! Dib glared at Zim, he'd have to stop him once again.

After the bell rang, Dib jumped up and ran over to Zim "what are you planning huh? Huh? I seen you writing it down!" He looked at the desk to grab the paper but Zim had already stuck it in his PAK "it's none of your business Dib-human! You're not going to stop me this time! I am Zim!" Zim waved his arms in the air before getting up and running out of the classroom. Dib chased him "I won't let you get away with this! I'll stop you!" Zim panted and scurried out of the skool, running towards his base "ha! You're going to fail this time Dib-stink!" Dib was right behind Zim trying to catch him, how does Zim still run faster than him? He hasn't grown much since he got here, Dib was taller than Zim but somehow Zim could still run faster. "No I won't! I'm going to save the earth! I'll be a hero!" Dib shouted and dodged the trash Zim threw at him "grrr go away Dib-monkey! Leave Zim alone!" Zim was nearly there, once he arrived at his base, the gnome security aimed their guns at Dib. Zim was able to slip inside while Dib backed off a bit "I'll never stop Zim! I'll always be here protecting earth!" He sighed "damn" he kicked a rock before heading home.

Zim sighed with relief and took off his disguise, throwing it on the couch before rubbing his eyes "hi Gir" Gir popped out of kitchen, covered in flour "hi master! Want some waffles?!" He screamed, Zim held his antennas "if you stop screaming I'll eat one" Gir quieted down a little and gave Zim a waffle, Zim reluctantly ate it and headed over to his elevator "I'm going down to the lab Gir, don't bother me, and don't make a bigger mess" Girs eyes turned red for a moment and he saluted "yes master I obey!" His eyes turned back to normal and he ran over to the couch, jumped up on it and turned the TV on. Zim shook his head and went down to the lab to work on his latest plans

Meanwhile Dib got home and grabbed a snack before heading up to his room and turned on his computer, clicking on his cameras live feed of Zims base, he zoomed in on the one that was in Zims lab, he'd been sneaking in for years and managed to install several cameras but he still had some blind spots. He opened up his snack and munched on it while while watching Zim.

Zims latest plan was to release a virus that would spread undetected, it was supposed to bury itself in the brain and once activated it would take over the infected persons brain, it was a brilliant plan but Zim was having one major issue. "Yes, yes, travel to the brain- what?! No not the heart!" Zim yelled as he was testing the virus in a simulation. Zim pulled his antennas and groaned "stupid virus!" He slammed his fists on the table "computer! How do I reprogram the virus?!" He yelled, the computer groaned and scanned the virus "virus cannot be reprogrammed, now leave me alone" Zim gasped "can't be reprogrammed..? Well fine maybe if I just self destruct them it'll just kill the host" he tested it and it seemed to be working at first but then it died before killing the host. Zim pulled his antennas again "oh no, it's not working" he panicked a little "what are the tallest going to say? If Zim fails them again they might never come" he paced around the lab "oo! I know I'll tell them I'm making good progress but I haven't worked out all the bugs! Perfect!"

Dib chuckled while watching "I don't even have to do anything this time"

Zim called his tallest and they answered while eating donuts "what is it Zim?" Red asked, clearly annoyed "my tallest! I hope you're doing well, I have an important update about my mission" Zim looked at the tallest proudly "well? Get on with it" Purple said "oh right, my latest plan is making great progress I just have to work out a few bugs" Zim explained "that's great Zim, we have another call coming in, bye" Red said in a bored tone before hanging up. Zim however took pride in what red said "yes! They think Zims doing great!" Zim raised his fists before getting back to work

Dib shook his head "they don't even care Zim, why can't you see that?" He knew he was talking to a computer screen but it was pretty normal for him to talk to himself. He sighed and turned off his computer and checked the time, dinner would be done in an hour so he decided to do his homework.

After Dib was done with his homework he went downstairs to eat dinner that the stupid robot made him, he sighed knowing he wasn't going to see his dad tonight and ate his food while Gaz played her game and ignored him

That night Dib had a hard time sleeping, and he tossed and turned, tomorrow was going to suck.
