I stepped into my dream, which was now a reality. Nothing makes you happier than being in the place you have dreamed of for years. I can feel it.
I got a seat at Christ Church. It truly felt like a gift from Christ. The girl who used to think only about blood I mean red, was now in Oxford. I headed to Christ Church, imagining myself as Hermione Granger. I went to the Great Hall, where the Freshers Day program was being held. Dream... Reality... Fiction becoming nonfiction. I had read about the Great Hall in Harry Potter as fiction, into nonfiction now, as Anna, the girl who would redefine the history of death.
The Great Hall was everything I imagined and more.
Tall, stained-glass windows bathed the room in a kaleidoscope of colors, casting shadows that danced across the long wooden tables. The ceiling seemed to stretch to infinity, and the ancient stone walls held secrets older than any of us could imagined. My eyes scanned the room, absorbing everything in detail, the flickering candlelight, the buzz of excited conversations, the tapestry of students from around the world, each one on the thirst of their own journey.
As the guest spoke, my mind began to recollect all. I thought of how far I had come, from the girl who once feared about red to the one now standing on Oxford. The red once I associated with blood had been replaced by life. Where did I get the power to transform my life? From where ?. This moment was a more than just a dream come true. Oxford would be the place where I would rewrite my story, where I would explore the boundaries between life and death, fiction and reality, and where I would finally discover what it truly means to live. The Freshers' Day program continued, with speeches from professors, alumni, and student leaders, each one more inspiring than the last. But for me, the most profound moment came when we were asked to introduce ourselves to the people seated next to us. I, Anna, be the first to introduce myself to others. I was highly enthusiastic to introduce there.
"Hello! I’m Anna, originally from the vibrant lands of Indonesia. I’ve been shaped by a mosaic of cultures and experiences, and my journey here to Oxford is a significant chapter in the story I’m writing about my life. My goal is to chronicle this journey, with the hope that it will serve as a source of motivation and reflection once I’ve completed my degrees. Oxford is not just a place of learning for me; it’s where I’ll pen the most transformative pages of my life’s record. Thank you."
This was only the beginning, but it was a beginning that held promise and purpose. Oxford was no longer just a dream, it was my reality. And I was here to make it unforgettable to allllllll.....
