"𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭"

"Let's go to the—"
"We can't! It is your fault we are forbidden to leave our room!" Viserra huffed out, quickly cutting Viserys off. She sat up, facing him as they both sat on the edge of their beds.

"You say that like you did not have fun." He retorted, poking her legs which sat opposite his.
"Stop that—"
"Stop what?" Viserys feigned indifference, poking her shin with his toe.
"You know what." She snapped back, scratching him with her toenail making Viserys recoil, curling his toes as he pushed his heels into his feather bed.

Viserra smiled in triumph, settling back on her bed, turning the page in the tome she had placed upon her bed. It was a book of all the dragons, along with their riders. Talk of claimed and unclaimed dragons, as well as egg hatching.

Viserys' egg hatched when they were still drinking from the wet nurses' tit. Mother would say that the dragon hatched and settled itself at the end of Viserys' feet as he slept in his cot.

Viserra never had such an experience. No, Viserra's egg was still in the dijemion that rested under her featherbed. She brought it out every night to keep hold of it while the dragonkeepers relight the coals. The scales of the egg are forever burned into the skin of her palms.

"Do you regret coming with me—last night?" Viserys' question broke through the silence, his eyes flickered over her features trying to decipher her expression.
"No," Viserra replied honestly. "I have never experienced anything like that—flying! It was the most surreal experience of my life." She exclaimed.

Viserys gave her a nod, trying to suppress a grin as he busied himself by fiddling with the sheets decorating his bed. "Good. Good."

Viserys had become irritable while Viserra insisted on 'ignoring' him, favouring her book over holding a conversation. The boy thought it wise to try and hang from every surface possible. Viserra scoffed every time she heard him fall to the stone floor.

"Viserra—Viserra, look—!" Viserys yelled, hoping for her attention before slipping. The candle arm that was sticking out of the wall twisted with him, and Viserys winced at the thought of getting into even more trouble.
"Viserys!" Viserra reprimanded with a whine in her tone.
"I didn't mean to—woah." Viserys cut himself off, the wall had opened, exactly like a door into a random hallway.

"What is that?"
Viserys did not reply—instead, he sprung to his feet, glee written on his face as he ripped Viserra up from her bed and pulled her through the passageway.

"We are going to get in even more trouble!" Viserra whined as she let Viserys drag her through the hole in the wall.
"We won't get caught," he chirped, gripping her hand as he pulled her along.

The hall was pitch black, the only source of light was coming from the cracked open door of their chambers. A long, thin hall trailed on in front of them, Viserys tugged her along.

"Why were we not told of this?" Viserys murmured in a hushed tone.
"It seems secret. Secrets are to be kept—something you are incapable of doing." Viserra scoffed, the stone beneath her feet growing ice cold.

"Stop!" Viserys pushed her chest, halting Viserra in her place.
"What—?"
"A ladder." Viserys grinned deviously, moving forward and attaching to the ladder before Viserra got a word in edgewise. She let out an almost inaudible squeak at the action, quickly following her twin down the ladder. Careful not to step on his fingers.

"This is a terrible idea," Viserra said, once her feet hit the stone ground of the dark hall.
"Do you know any other words?" Viserys scoffed, bringing one of his hands to Viserra's wrist, the other moving to scratch his scalp.

There was hardly a noise in the winding halls, save for the patterning of their bare feet against the ground, and an occasional droplet of water that snuck in from...somewhere. Until they got closer to a small crack of light. Viserra could hear the chattering of people and could smell the grease of meat.

"The kitchens!" she yelled gleefully, glad they were not completely lost in the secret passageways. Viserys had to pick up his pace to keep up with Viserra who had begun pulling him towards the small line of light that seemed to peek through the stone door.

Viserra pushed against the stone cut-out secret door with all of her might, alongside Viserys. They were desperate to get out of the dark, and Viserra was starting to get claustrophobic in the small thin halls.
"Oh, thank the Gods!" she cried once they stepped into the kitchens.

"Prince! Princess! How did you get there?" a cook spoke in disbelief, seeing the small Velaryon children appear from a crack in the wall.
"What are you making?" Viserys questioned, placing his hands up on the counter to peek over, moving a hand out to snag on whatever lay before him.
"You should not—your supper is soon." a maid spoke hesitantly.
"I'm hungry now." he huffed, pushing his way through the crowd of chefs, Viserra on his heel.
"I want cake," Viserra spoke so quickly, the words blurred together. "Please can I have cake?" she begged. Viserra moved to the baker who had a fresh tray of honey cakes to the right of them.

Viserra stared at the girl with wide eyes, hand slowly tugged on her ratty skirts. The girl wordlessly handed her two slices of cake and moved away.

Viserra gleamed victoriously handing a slice to Viserys as they walked out of the kitchens the usual way. Viserra sunk her teeth into the cake, it was crispy on the corners, but moist all around. It was warm from the oven and soaked in syrup. The cake tastes of the heavens, and Viserra forgot that they were supposed to be in their rooms...until Sir Harwin rounded the corner the twins coming the opposite way.

"Are you both not supposed to be in your chambers?" the knight halted in front of them with suspicion.
"Sir Harwin!" they squeaked.
"How did you both slip passed the guards?"
He got no answer.
Harwin let out a small hum of amusement, standing behind the small children and giving them both a small push to start walking towards Rhaenyra's rooms.

Viserra's expression immediately soured, the cake in her mouth turning rotten to her tongue. Stomach coiling at the reprimanding they would be at the receiving end of. Mother was still mad at them for their midnight flight.

Harwin rapped his knuckles against the door before pushing it open, making the twins step in before he himself did.
"Princess," Sir Harwin spoke to draw Rhaenyra's attention.
Rhaenyra grinned her toothy grin at her children before it faltered. Viserys took a step back, hand over his mouth as he tried to cover the fact he shovelled the cake Into his mouth. Viserra still held hers between both hands, fingers turned sticky, and the cake crumbled with every second.

"Where is that from?" Rhaenyra asked, brows raising ever so slightly.
"Where is what from? Oh—Viserra!" Viserys groaned at the fact she was still holding cake.

"Thank you, Sir Harwin. You can leave us now." Rhaenyra said, trying to hide her amusement.
"Of course Princess." Harwin dipped his head, closing the chamber door behind him.
