Chapter 34: You Got Detention?!

Severus sat on his couch in his personal quarters, rubbing his temples, "So...let me get this straight. You decide that it's a good idea to not only talk back to your professor, but also start an argument with him for the entire class period?".

Draco and Hadrian were sitting on the large couch chair together, Draco sitting cross legged with his brother sitting on his lap sideways with his head and legs hanging off the arms of the chair.

Hadrian shrugs, "I feel like we're missing some crucial details here, Sevvy".

Severus sighs, "You've been here less than a week and yet you both managed to get detention".

Draco plays with Hadrian's hair, "You honestly expected me to let my brother go into detention by himself?".

Severus shakes his head, "I don't know what I expect from you two anymore".

Hadrian jumps off Draco's lap and runs over to his godfather. He sits on the couch right next to him and wraps his arms around his torso, leaning his head on his shoulder.

He pouts and looks up at Severus, "You're not mad at us, are you Uncle Sev?".

Severus sighs, trying to resist looking down at his godson, knowing exactly what would happen if he did. He shakes his head and slowly looks down, making eye contact with Hadrian's puppy eyes.

He gives Hadrian a kiss on the top of his head, "No. I'm not mad at you".

Draco snickers at the action and whispers, "Toujours à jouer les favoris" (Still playing the favourites).

Severus turns to him, "I heard that". Hadrian cuddles into his chest and Severus laughs, "I'm starting to regret making you a Malfoy".

A voice is heard from behind them, "You'd really take one of my children away, Severus?".

They all turn around to see Lucius standing next to the Floo with a smirk on his face.

He holds his hand to his heart with a fake hurt expression, "Vous me blessez, mon ami" (You wound me, my friend).

Severus sighs, "Why must you all constantly speak French around me?".

Draco laughs, "You can also speak French, Sevvy".

"Oui, parce que ton abruti de père n'arrêtait pas de le prononcer pour m'embêter à l'école, sachant que je ne pouvais pas le comprendre" (Yeah, because your dumbass father kept speaking it to annoy me in school knowing I couldn't understand it).

Lucius laughs and holds his arms out, "Come here boys".

As the twins run over to their father, Severus also stands, "I hope for your sake you're not talking to me".

Lucius wraps his arms around the boys, "Oh no, of course not. I love you, Sev, but not like that".

Hadrian giggles and looks up, "I think grandpa would haunt you for the rest of your life, father".

Severus huffs and abruptly turns, "I'm going to bed".

As he walks out of the room, the other three laugh and Lucius leads them back over to the couch. He sits in the middle with one arm wrapped around each son.

He looks between them, "Now, can one of you please explain why your mother and I got a notice to have a meeting with the headmaster in your first week here?".

Hadrian starts, "Simple. Binns is an imbecile who couldn't handle the truth".

Draco nods, "Or the fact that he had to hear it from an eleven-year old and have everyone else in the class agree".

Lucius hums, "I see". He looks down at Draco and rubs his hair, "And how exactly do you fit into this, Draconis?".

"Well the bastard decided to give Hades detention and over my dead body was he going by himself. So...". He cuddles further into his father's chest, "...I...may have...released a snake in the room".

Lucius chuckles, "Ah. I swear you two are closer than any biological twins that I know".

Hadrian laughs, "I don't think Uncle Rodolphus and Uncle Rabastan would like that".

"Yeah, well, that's something they can dispute with you".

I apologise for the lack of updates on this book. Lots of stuff has been going one in my personal and work life (life of a preschool teacher never stops 😆). 

Honestly, I've had quite a bit of writer's block and not knowing where to take this story. If anyone has any ideas of what they want to see, please let me know. I know more where the later parts are going it's just getting there and building it up is taking a lot more brain cells that I don't have 🤯
