Chapter 4: Quick Rumors

Y/N's POV
Location: Crime Alley Shelter
Date: A day since last chapter

March 14th, the last day of my life...

It was about 2 PM when I had returned from a walk, I entered the building and noticed Aiden and Cal talking about something, I couldn't hear much but I did hear them mentioning the Joker

"Y/N!" Cal called out for me and beckoned for me and so I walked up and pulled my hood off, "Aiden just heard a rumor about the Joker" as he says this, Aiden is visually uncomfortable about it

"Ok, I overheard from one of the Joker's former lieutenants that the Joker's main hideout is on an island of the coast of Michigan on Lake Michigan" he nervously claims

"Have you tried giving the info to the police?" I asked

"They won't listen to a Crime Alley Kid, let alone one claiming that they have info about the Joker of all people" he says just causing me to nod before sighing and heading up to my room

When there, I pull a duffle bag from the bottom of my bed and open it up, revealing my handgun and crowbar that I got as gifts

A Few Hours Later
Location: Batcave under Wayne Manor, Chicago, Illinois

Alfred had called for me to meet at the Batcave and I did, arriving at around 11 PM. I walked down the stairs to the Batcave and ask what's wrong, startling Alfred, "oh Master Y/N, I didn't see you coming down" he gets up from the Batcomputer and walked up to me, "Judge Philly Barton, the judge that sentenced the Joker last year, has gone missing" he shows me the pictures of the Judge on the Batcomputer

I recognized him and started to head towards my suit but was stopped by Alfred, "I'm afraid Master Bruce has said no to you going out tonight, siting that you're still not fully trained

"What am I supposed to do then?" I question with a hint of anger, "just sit around and wait for his dead body to show up?"

"Master Bruce wants you here in the Batcave to help me provide support" Alfred calmly states causing me to sigh

Before our conversation can continue however the Batwave goes off and Oracle starts speaking, "I have 25 potential hideout outs that Joker could be using" she states before pulling up a map with 24 in Chicago and one off the coast of Michigan

"Thanks Oracle, Nightwing, let's start with the ones in town" Batman's voice can be heard over the coms

"On it Batman" he states before there coms close

I walk up to the map and point at the highlighted one off the coast of Michigan, "that's where the Joker is" I claim much to the surprise of both Alfred and Oracle

"How are you sure?" Alfred asks

"Just a feeling" I reply and turn towards, "you have to trust me on this"

"I'll let Master Bruce know" he states

"No! I mean, let me handle it, let me prove myself" I request with baby doll eyes which Alfred finds hard to resist

"I'll give you a ten-minute head start, deal?" he asks, and I nod my head before suiting up and hoping on a Batcycle

"You won't regret this Alfred" I say before riding off

"I feel like I will" he says under his breath
