Y/N's POV
Location: Random road in Michigan
Date: A few minutes since last chapter

I was riding a Batcycle and had recently entered the state of Indiana when the Batwave went off, "Y/N, what the hell are you doing?" the voice of Batman can be heard

"What does it look like I'm doing, taking care of the Joker" I reply

"Y/N listen to me, The Joker is much more dangerous than you think, and he will kill you the second he gets the chance"

"I know but you need to trust me on this"

"Y/N, turn that bike around right now!" Bruce yells before I turn him off and continue to ride

2 Hours Later

My soaking wet hand grabbed onto the grass of the Joker's island, and I pull myself up and lay down after a long swim, I didn't have much time to do so however as I had to find the judge and rescue him.

I got off and looked up, right a giant warehouse on a fairly small island and started scoping it out. My head eventually looks directly at the roof before I grab my grapple gun and shoot up to the top; after getting there I notice a hole in the roof. Convenient, I thought to myself before hooking my grapple and slowly descending down

I touched the ground and retracted my grapple hook and crouched as I walked around. I reached into my utility belt and grabbed a small flashlight, and I shined it in the dark and as I do, I can see what seems to be Christmas lights, turned off and a lot of clown imagery as I expected.

As I continue to search around, I hear something, causing me to turn my flashlight off in panic, after a few seconds I hear another bang and realize that it's coming from downstairs and that I must be on a higher level

I turn my light on again and immediately see a set of stairs leading down, I turn my light off again and head down, doing my best to not making any noise. As I enter down, I hear another bang and look in the direction, noticing a faint outline of a man tied up and gagged, I walk closer and realize that it's the judge, Philly Barton.

He hears me step closer and I turn my light on, he starts shaking his head for some reason and tries to talk through his gag, I ignore this and ungag him, "behind you!" he screams, causing me to turn around and get punched in the face, knocking me out

10 minutes later

"Wakey, wakey" I hear a voice call out as I start to regain my vision, it starts out blurry but as it clears up, I'm faced to face with the Joker himself, inches away from me. In fear I try to move but can't, though the sound of chains fill me in, I still look around to see the Christmas lights on and across the room from me is Judge Barton.

I wasn't gaged like him so I decided to speak up, "Joker" is all I can muster up as I see my hands, feet, and body chained up to a pipe behind me

"Were you expecting Two-Face?" he asks with a sarcastic tone and an unwavering smile before giving a little chuckle. Before he continues, a folding chair is thrown to him and he catches it, as he unfolds it and sits down, I notice the big person who threw it and I recognized them as either Punch or Judy, they looked exactly the same so I couldn't tell for sure.

The Joker sat down and leaned in even closer before speaking, "tell me rookie, how long have you been on the job?" he asked, with me ignoring him, "I didn't think it was that long either but so short?" he mocks me, "I mean only a weak and you thought you could take me? Am I no longer a threat anymore?" he counties now with a sarcastic sadness in his voice and mannerisms as he wipes away a non-existence tear

"So at least tell me one thing, well two actually, firstly why? I mean it's a noble cause and all to play hero but there's usually something more personal" he states as he leans back in his chair

I look at him before speaking, "my parents... you killed them" I calmly stated with a hint of rage in my voice

Joker just looked at me in confusion, "kid, do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?" he asks

"October, 1997" I state causing his face to light up in joy

"Ah, I see, a Crime Alley kiddo huh?" he leans back in, inches away from my face, "a beautiful night that was, so much death and so many screams of terror" he says getting up from his chair all giddy like

I looked on in disgust as he claps his hands at the big twin and turns around back at me, "that's a really sad story and all but I really care about..." his voice trails off as he looks around, irritated until the big twin walks in with my bag, "are these," he opens my bag, to show off my gun and crowbar

My disgust went away, now replaced with fear, Joker just laughs as he notices it and pulls out my crowbar, "now this" he stops to whistle before continuing, "this is a beauty" he says while ogling the thing before he smacks my face with it causing blood to run out of cheek

"Ooooh, did that hurt?" he mockingly asked me before kicking me in the stomach, "I must say, you're much less fun than the previous Robin, at least he would talk some more" he states before putting the crowbar back in the bag and grabbing my handgun

"And this thing, is pathetic, I mean, who has only a single clip of bullets, very inefficient" he says before he tilts my head back up with his left hand and puts my gun to abdomen and pulls the trigger causing me to scream in pain as I bleed

Joker than turns around to his henchman, "Punch, where the hell is Judy, he's supposed to be back by now" he says as Judy walks in the room with a box in hand, "ah finally, now set the bombs, and the timer and leave" he says before leaving

As he leaves, I notice Punch and Judy look at each other before nodding and one of them walked up to me and punched me again

7 minutes later

I groaned as I woke up again, this time tied up to Judge Barton and with no Punch or Judy in sight, I tried to wiggle out of the restrains, "it's no use kid" Barton claimed before looking at me, "it's too late"

"No, I have to try" I say before continuing to struggle before I noticed a clock, a timer with a minute and a half left. Seeing that clock fed me with a sense of dread, of hopelessness"

"If it makes you feel any better, I really do appreciate you trying to rescue me kid, you're a hero, even if you don't feel like one" he states before my dread becomes a calm sense of rage

"I' sorry guys" I say under my breath before I noticed Barton look like he's about to say something, maybe confess to something before his death but he remained quiet, whatever he was going to say, he was going to take it to his grave, our graves...

After what felt like eternity, I looked at the ticking clock, 15 seconds, I felt a sense of rage towards the Joker who was going to get away once again and felt even more hopelessness
