Mae Koy waking up early is nothing short of unusual.
Although it's the weekend and she doesn't have any class to teach. A lot of household chores need to be done during rest days. Now, she's busy cooking for breakfast. Her husband always prefers a coffee in the morning and would have a meal afterwards wherein Earn, her daughter wanted Kai Look keuy to be part of her meal once a day. If not for breakfast, her daughter would crave for it every lunch time.
Now, she's boiling the eggs to be use in the dish when her husband suddenly bursts into the kitchen door.
"There's a yacht docked on the beach front right now. Do you have any idea who owns it?" Her husband asked her in confusion.
Mae Koy paused for a bit and tried to recall if Khun Ploy, who handles tourist registration of the island said something but she remembers nothing. Although they are welcoming visitors, it's not the peak season yet so they only received a handful. In rare instances, they welcome a rich tourist that owns yacht but they need to inform the chieftain and tourist officer first to arrange the docking fee and security of the boat.
"Khun Ploy haven't mentioned anything, dear.."
Her husband starts brewing his coffee then turns towards her, "N'Vir saw the yacht and reported it to me earlier. We've been looking for the owner of it since then but haven't got any luck."
Mae Koy smiled at her husband, "Let them be, sooner or later, they'll need to report back to you. Now have you seen your daughter?" She glanced at the clock and it's already seven in the morning.
They knew that their daughter loves sleep as much as she loves breathing but they have an agreement to do laundry at the nearby river. It's the time of the month where the villagers would do heavy laundry all together on the river where they will wash bed sheets, blankets, curtains and everything that a simple washing machine could not handle. It's a small gathering wherein men would prepare foods while women are doing the laundry. Children used this occasion as well to play with kids their age, sliding at the river slope.
