Exhausted. She was terribly exhausted and weary and her body felt like it was in limbo, floating in the endless canopies of emptiness and Lada thought that this was fine compared to what she had experienced so far. To have her feet off the ground, to feel weightless and to have not a care in the world.
She's fine this way. She made peace with it already.
But from time to time, she's feeling a tug from somewhere. Most times, it's soft, almost tended, like a gentle breeze from the morning air but sometimes, it's violent. Like a rampaging ocean, willing to claim her back from the abyss of where she is. What's constant is the velvety voice that she always keeps on hearing. It's soft, tender, a voice full of warmth and longing that always never fails to pull her heart strings. Everything is cloudy and time passes as if in no motion but whenever she hears that voice, she feels a wave of emotion, choking and overwhelming her all at once. It's at that moment when she felt a tug and her consciousness awakened.
The first time it happened, It was brief. It only almost lasted for five seconds, her eyes not even fully opened but she caught a glimpse of the woman in her dreams. Blonde hair, full pink lips and sweet amber eyes, but instead of a glint of happiness that she always sees in her dreams, the soft eyes were full of sadness, it compelled her to ask what was wrong. What was making this beautiful woman sad and teary? But before she opened her mouth, she was pulled back into the hazy dreams of white and gray.
Unlike before, this time she was fighting with the invisible foes of her dreams. They want to take back what was originally hers. Sometimes, she just wanted to give up. To rest and let it all be but she wanted to see the beautiful woman again and when it happened, the blonde woman was sitting beside her, in front were a group of people in white coats. She's sobbing hard and Lada felt her heart breaking, tearing into multiple pieces and she doesn't even know why.
"No. You said it would only take 24 hours for her to wake up but it's been four days now!" A Familiar tall woman screamed at those people. The woman was in her early fifties but looked so much younger than that, the hair was tied in a clean bun and Lada felt a sense of familial comfort.
"We apologized, Khun Russamee. We have already done all the possible exams that we can do to check but we really found nothing amiss. We just simply need for her to wake up."
"Tell me if you can't do anything more because we can have my daughter transferred to America to be examined by a more competent Doctors!" Khun Ying stated, her voice shaking with exasperation and anger.
Lada saw the blonde woman sobbing again, tears running endlessly down.
Why is it that this girl is always crying whenever she's looking at her? Why is it that she has an urge to wrap this woman in her shoulder? Comfort and assure her that everything will be fine?
"Teerak," The woman sobbed, "Please wake up. I can't lose you. I really can't."
And it dawned on her. It's the same voice as she heard in her dreams! The voice who's giving her endless courage to fight and make her way back. She tried to reach her, to gently wipe her tears but she was only able to move her pinky before she was enveloped by the irritating clouds again.
"She moved!" Earn whispered and in the stillness of the room, it echoed.
Khun Russamee turned towards the woman who was sobbing against her daughter's arm and hurriedly closed the short distance. "W-what?"
