"Khun Lada?"

The Chieftain asked for clarification. Confusion is imminent on his face.

" I love your daughter, Sir. I want to marry her."

"W-what?"

"Can we go back to the poarch to talk about this, Sir?"

The Chieftain looked at her but nodded and followed the young Doctor to somewhere quiet.

"I want to set your expectation, Doc that i'm not a particular type of person." Earn's dad stated after they sat down. With a short time that they walked back to where the Bungalow was, the old man was able to calm the thoughts that are racing his mind. "I support whoever my daughter loves but, is it too sudden?"

"Oh." Lada stated when she realize that the truth of what the Chieftain said. How sudden her gestures was. The two of them meet only yesterday. He's not familiar with her yet. The Google article was not very specific with instructions.

"I'm you daughter's girlfriend, Sir." She tried to explain then she saw another wave of confusion on the old man's face so she tried to expound. "We're in a relationship for almost three years in Spain. We broke up for two years. But i always love her and want her back so i'm now asking for your permission to court your daughter. Preferably, have your blessing in our marriage as well."

A sudden realization dawned on the old man.

Her daughter mentioned in passing that she had a lover abroad and they supported her happiness. They don't want to intrude. He just wanted to make sure that her daughter was treated with kindness and respect that she deserve. They also thought before that Earn would continue working abroad but after graduation, she went home and his bubbly daughter was no more. She smile and looks happy of course, but her parents saw the sadness that lies deep within Earn's amber eyes. They tried to ask her what happened but Earn assured them that she's okay. They got worried again when four month ago, his Child decided to drop everything and settle at the Island. This time, Earns sadness was evident and they almost always find their daughter alone in her porch at the evening, staring into the emptiness.
