A Doctor's Visit

The mysterious demon duo disappeared as quickly as they had appeared to help them escape before Tanjiro was arrested, which he was thankful for.

That would have been terrible since it would impede his journey and it most likely would have caused his mother to freak out. And the last thing he wanted was to have his mother and him being arrested in what was supposed to be his second mission as a demon slayer. He can only imagine how badly things would have developed with his demon siblings just on the outskirts of the city waiting for him.

The demon woman excused herself after the boy with her took the man from his arms. And the lady with the recently formed demon man had disappeared with them as well.

Now he was walking back to the cart with his mother behind him, clutching at his sleeve like it was a lifeline.

When he got there the udon cart's man was looking at his cart with Takeo and Nezuko looking back at him.

"Aren't you two hungry or something? Or are you still waiting on, what I assume is, your brother?" The udon cook asked, crossing his arms as he stared at his two siblings with a curious look. When they stayed silent, the man continued on, "And what the heck is that bamboo thing you two got on? Is it a cultural thing I don't know about?"

"Hello, sir!" Tanjiro greeted before the man could get closer to his cart. He didn't know what the stranger would say if he heard or saw his younger siblings inside their boxes.

"I'd like to buy a bowl of udon." Tanjiro said then quickly changed his order once he remembered just how hungry he was. "Actually give me two bowls."

The man didn't look opposed to his order when he held out the yen. "Alright."

Two bowls of hot udon were fixed up and placed in front of him in record time. Tanjiro slurped up both of the bowls so quickly that it made the cart's owner gasp at the speed. Once he was done with his second bowl, he slammed it on the cart's table with a grin. "Thank you for the meal. It was delicious," Tanjiro said, clapping his hands together.

"Well, I'm glad you liked it." The udon cart man grinned as he leaned back on the heels of his feet. "Come back again next time and I'll have something for your whole family."

Tanjiro turned towards his family who had all crawled back inside the cart by now. Maybe he should ask if there was any fresh meat that they could eat. It was worth a try even though it might be a little pricey compared to the simple udon dishes he just ate. "Uh, do you want any raw ingredients specifically with meats?"

"Ah, that stuff sells quickly during the daytime. That's why I only have the vegetable udon tonight." The udon cook scratched at his chin. "I could cook up some eggs?"

Tanjiro shook his head at the other's suggestion, "That's okay. My family has a more particular diet. I'm sure I can find something."

The man brightened up as he pointed back towards the city. "Akasuka has some great hotpot places if you want to eat some good meat."

"I'll be sure to check them out in the future then." Tanjiro smiled. It wasn't a lie. In the future when his family was human again, he could easily make a trip back here and take them for a celebratory dinner. Or maybe just come back for the man's udon. That warm seasoned broth with the perfectly cooked udon noodles tasted amazing. "Have a good night, sir."

"Be safe in your travels." The man nodded back at him, waving when Tanjiro started to walk off with the cart. He started to walk back towards Akasuka with the intent in skirting the outside city limit to try and track down the duo that helped them before.
