Lucy woke up much earlier than him the next morning, familiar to the routine of morning sickness.
After exiting the bathroom, she hopped back into bed, trying to get some more rest before Tim had to wake up and leave for work. She laid on her side, trying to fall asleep but caught herself reaching for Tim's hand. She grabbed his arm and pulled it over herself, putting his hand against her belly.
For a moment she let herself believe that being a mother would be alright. She truly believed that she would be a good mother, she wouldn't force her child into a career it didn't want, or dismiss their feelings. She would care for them.
A tear ran down her cheek, maybe it was the thought of being a mother that brought her to tears, or the reminder that Lucy had too much on her plate.
Tim's hand moved over an inch, Lucy squeezing his finger. His face nuzzled into her neck, spooning her. Lucy let him, figuring there couldn't be any harm if she was in Tim's arms.
Her eyes felt heavy again, and she found herself soon drifting off to sleep again, for the few minutes she had left before Tim had to get up.

"Do you really have to go?" Lucy sighed, crossing her arms as she leaned against the frame of her front door. Tim stood outside, staring down at the sad brunette.
"I do, but I called in, and I'm leaving early. We can go to the clinic then, if you want. Or you can go, and tell me what they say." Tim suggested; trying to be as supportive as possible, without completely freaking out on her.
He himself barely had time to process the idea of Lucy Chen being pregnant with his child. He hadn't planned on being a father after Isobel, but the thought of having a child with Lucy didn't sound terrible either. This could work, he thought.
"I'd like it if you came," Lucy smiled, nervously looking around. She hadn't forgotten about the entire stalker situation, and by the way Tim was scanning the hallway, it seems he wasn't forgetting any time soon either.
"Don't go." Lucy pouted, arms at her sides as she tried giving her best puppy eyes.
"I have to, but I promise I'll be back." Tim exhaled, holding her head lightly, planting a kiss into her hair, another onto her forehead, and a final on her lips.
"Bye," He smiled, and she waved him off, blushing as she closed and locked the door. She felt her belly, making small circles with her palm. This could work, she thought.
