He loved her like there was no tomorrow,

She loved him like it was her last day on earth,

He looked into her eyes and saw the universe,

She looked into his and saw everything that hurt,

He memorized her features and the tone of her laugh,

She could pinpoint his variety of masks,

He thought she was in love,

She thought he was hiding his intentions,

He left split in half,

She left thinking it was for the best on her behalf,

He went on in his life comparing every person to her,

She went on with the memory of him a blur,

He visited her grave,

She never knew he truly loved her,

He thought "What did I do wrong?"
She thought "What did I do wrong?"
