[3RD PERSON POV]

Lucifer sat with Lilith awkwardly on the couch.

Lilith was looking at the fire, the soft orange glow making a beautiful flicker in his eyes.

For some reason Lucifer couldn't understand why he didn't feel anything when he looked at her anymore.

All he felt was nostalgia and longing.

But not longing for her.

"Lili..?"

Lilith turned her purple gaze towards lucifer with a soft smile, her blonde hair flowing like it always has.

"Why-... why did you leave for so long?"

Lilith's eyes widened.

She knew eventually he would eventually ask that, but she thought she had time to prepare something.

"I needed a break I guess."

Lucifer frowned, how could she just brush it off with saying she needed a fucking break?

A break for 7 YEARS?!?

"Lilith do you even fucking love me?"

"Of course I do."

Lilith tried hard to stay calm, she needed to keep lucifer in her grasp so she could distract him while F/N went looking for Y/N.

Lilith has no idea how long she has to stay here in this hellhole before Adam took action with his plot.

"Then why did you leave for seven years, and dont give me that break bullshit!"

"I NEEDED TO GET AWAY FROM THIS SHITHOLE LUCIFER!"

Lucifer backed up when Lilith suddenly yelled.

"I was in paradise before you came along.. can you blame me for wanting a taste of that again?"

"I would have supported you if you had told me!"

"But what if you didn't.. what then?"

Lucifer looked at the ring on his hand.

He would always support Lilith.

It shows a lot of uncertainty in their relationship that she couldn't trust him.

"Lili.. I love you."

"I love you too."

"I will always love you, I fell for you.. literally, But I met this girl."

Lilith started to panic even more, if she screwed this up she would be stuck here, and she wouldn't be the queen either.

"Lucifer please... just give me another chance, I want to be better for you."

Lucifer tried to remove his ring from his finger but Lilith stopped him.

"Lilith I love her."

"Lucifer I love you, I am your wife!"

"You haven't been my wife for seven god damn years Lilith."

Lucifer wants to have a relationship with Y/N but his love for Lilith has gotten in the way.

Even though they kissed they barely know each other.. and he really wants to get to know her.

Lucifer slowly removed his wedding band and put it in Lilith's palm.

"It's over Lili.. I'm sorry."

With that Lucifer walked away towards the grand staircase leaving Lilith standing dumfounded. 

"What the fuck..."

Lilith gripped the wedding band tightly as hot tears formed in her eyes.

"I'm not letting that bitch steal my husband."

[LUCIFER POV]

I know I can't take back what I just did, and I will never forgive myself for it.

But she left for seven years without a word.

I stopped and turned towards a mirror hanging in the hall.

My eyes were glossy and I could feel the wet tears staining my face.

I choke on a sob and grip my cane tighter.

"What the hell did I just do."

A door creaked open a ways down the hall, a soft glow emanating from the small space that was opened.

"Lucifer, what are you doing up so late?"

Y/N's head popped out from around the corner and looked at me with her big beautiful eyes.

"Just uh.. checking my appearance dear."

I flashed her a smile but I knew she could see right through me.

She began walking towards me.

I couldn't hold back and choked on another strained sob.

"Are you.. crying?"

Lying would do me no good, so I just nodded slowly.

"Luci what happened?"

"I broke up with Lilith."

Her eyes widened and without another word she pulled me into a hug.

I couldn't hold back anymore and wrapped my arms around her as the tears spilled from my eyes.

"I loved her so fucking much..."

She began running her fingers through my hair, it felt soothing.

"I know you did Luci."

I don't think she really understood my love for her since I never really talked about Lilith.

But it feels good to have someone that cares...

"Y/N, can you maybe stay with me tonight.. I can't trust I wont do anything bad to myself."

She quickly nodded, and I put my arm around her waist as we walked to my room.

"Come on Luci."

She opened the door and walked inside with me, kicking it closed behind her.

"Do you sleep in that suit or..?"

I snapped my fingers and it changed me into my sleepwear.

It was a white t-shirt and rubber duck shorts, really embarrassing.

"That's cute!"

She giggled, and I gave a strained smile.

"Now I won't force you to tell me why you guys broke up, but it might be better to get it off your chest."

She pulled the covers down and crawled into the bed, I got in beside her.

We weren't right next to each other but we were at a comfortable distance.

"Lilith has been gone for seven years, and her explanation was that she needed a break and she wanted the taste of paradise again... but she didn't tell me where she was going because she didn't trust me enough to support her."

Y/N looked me in the eyes.

Her beautiful E/C gazing back into my red eyes.

She's so gorgeous.

"I'm so sorry Lucifer.. did I get in the way?"

I immediately shook my head and grabbed her hand.

"Our love has been broken for years Y/N, it isn't your fault."

I pressed a soft kiss to her hand, I could see a faint blush rise on her cheeks.

"Are you tired."

I asked her that while she was in the middle of yawning and stretching.

"We can go to bed... I feel better now, if you want to leave you can."

"No! I mean- It's a long walk to my room and I'm tired, I'll just stay here if that's ok."

I chuckled and laid down from my sitting position.

"Goodnight Y/N."

"Goodnight Lucifer."

We fell asleep in each others arms.

She smelled like heaven.
