When you arrive back at the mansion, Logan rushes inside with the woman. Leaving you behind, but you understood. He was friends with her, you could tell from the way he panicked seeing her and though you knew her when you were younger, was likely better friends with her now then you ever were.

The girl from earlier with two-toned hair and gloves spots you, and gives you a small wave while approaching you.

"I'm Rogue." She states, not offering you a hand but instead a small smile. She takes you around, attempting to find an empty room for you. You offer to carry the awfully heavy looking textbooks in her arms for her but she shakes her head.

"How do you know Logan?" She questions. Eyeing the small placards beside doors.

"Pretty sure we met at a bar brawl, bought him some drinks afterward."

"I didn't think Logan took drinks from strangers."

"You fight somebody twice and kick their ass, you learn a lot more about them than a simple conversation."

"So you know a lot about him then?" She questions as you see a placard for a room that says 'Logan' on it. Rogue stops in front of the dark wooden door across from it.

"You got it all wrong kid, he kicked my ass twice.."

She lets out a little 'huh' in response, and pauses.

"This is my room, but you can take it for the night until I can talk to the professor about a proper room for you."

"It's alright. I'll go to a motel or something."

She looks you over, bewilderment in her eyes.

"Do you have any money?"

You stop in the middle of a thought, rerouting your train of thinking. You quite literally had no money. That limited your choices for doing anything.

"That's a very fair point. but I'm still not taking your room. I'll like... sleep on the couch or in the hallway."

She rolls her eyes, a small smile that's clear she wanted to laugh. You give her a smile and offer her an arm to wrap her glove around. She hesitates, but takes it. Making you grin a little more.

"You seemed really interested in the cure earlier. What's your mutation?"

She fidgets with her hands a little. Pulling the gloves further up her hands.

"When I touch someone, I can absorb their abilities and if I hold on for long enough, their life force."

Your eyebrows raise and you nod slightly. Not releasing her arm from yours. She had a glove on after all. It's not like she was actually touching your skin.

"The first guy I kissed, ended up in a coma for three weeks. I don't want to hurt Bobby when I kiss him."

"So you're going to get the cure for a boy?"

She shakes her head, a little angry at the suggestion.

"I'm going to get the cure so I can feel the heartbeat of another person. So I can hold hands and hug and be close to someone. Anyone. To you or to Logan, it just so happens that I'm dating Bobby and would like to kiss him too."

You nod, that's an entirely viable reason to want to be rid of such an extraordinary power. It's more of a curse than a blessing. Mutations are meant to help humans, another era in the world's evolution. But if you were in her shoes? You'd want the cure too.

"You think this is the best way?"

"As far as I know," She responds, walking towards the elevator to go back down to the training rooms.

"And you want to do this?"

"More than anything."

You nudge her shoulder a little. Making her look up at you.

"Then I think you should do it."

Her look changes from mild to bewildered. Confusion written all over her face. Her eyebrows knit close together and her mouth just slightly agape.

"You're not gonna try and convince me that I don't need a cure? That mutations aren't a disease in need of fixing? That the world needs my powers for the greater good?"

"As far as I'm concerned, you know that mutations aren't a disease and they don't need a cure, and that last one? Kid, there are so many mutants, look around you! You're in a school that trains them. I don't think it should matter if it's for the greater good. In this moment, the greater good is your sanity."

She smiles again, looking down at the floor.

"It's refreshing, Logan would just say 'I'm not your parent, I'm your friend'."

"Well, Logan's not a man of many words."

"You got that right."

You step out of the elevator laughing a little, before you hear Logan shouting. Professor Xavier leaves one of the rooms, a scowl plastered to his face. You and Rogue share a look, and she follows after the professor as you rush towards Logan. When you walk in, he sees alright, but then the woman shoots upward.

He starts struggling with the woman from before. Calling her 'Jean'. You rush towards them both. Things are floating and flying in the air, Logan is holding her carefully, asking her to focus.

"Kill me." She hushes out. Your eyes widen. Logan seems shocked.

"...what?" He whispers.

"Kill me please, before I kill someone else."

"Don't say that."

"Please." She begs.

"Stop it." Logan says, closing his eyes, you walk towards them. Glass shatters as Jean speaks again.

"Stop it. Look at me. Look at me." You walk further towards the two, Logan clearly panicking and just wanting her to be alright. "Jean, it'll be alright. We can help you. "The professor can help."

Logan looks like he's on the verge of tears, you place a hand on Jean's hand. Logan tries one more time to get her to calm down.

"He can fix it."

"I don't want to fix it." She hisses, throwing you two across the room. Stepping over your writhing body. You'd landed directly in the glass she had broken. Pain scorches through you. She bends down beside you while you look at Logan. Making sure he was still breathing. He hadn't moved at all.

"I should kill you. For what you did." She smirks, her hand holding your chin. "But it's more fun watching you squirm because you can't remember what you did."

The world goes dark and your body shivers as you dream of nothing, unable to remember.

What had you done to make her want to kill you?
