*hello, there will be a lot of time skip in the next few chapters.
****
Frederick's POV.
****I stared at my father, he stared back at me. I had been avoiding this for three week, but now, it was in my face.
"Frederick Colton," he nodded at me formally. I almost rolled my eyes. What did he think this was?!
My father had walked into a meeting interrupting us, like it was nothing. He commanded my employees to leave as if they were his. I didn't went to snap at him for Mom and Franny's sake but he was making it very fucking hard.
"I want to know why you didn't attend the dinner." he questioned. He looked angry, he was giving me his famous angry look but I was past caring.
Spend time with this man or Irene? Irene everyday. Speaking of Irene, she had texted me about her day right before my father busted into the conference room, disallowing me from reading what she sent me.
Irene was a fan of social media apps, she asked me to download it, so she could send me funny videos. I always wondered why many people were so addicted to social media but after about two weeks of watching funny videos I could say, I was officially an addict.
I have not seen much of Irene since that weekend we spent in her apartment but we kept up with each other. It was pretty fucking easy because I always loved hearing her call me Freddy, I loved hearing her voice. I loved her telling me about her day, her plans, what she wanted to do. I realized after talking to her that I liked gossiping. Irene called them tea and she fed me a lot of it. The main reason why I was annoyed with my father was that he was interrupting one of my sections.
"I was busy." I answered causally. My father was not happy with my reply. He narrowed his eyes and frowned.
"With what exactly? Your mother told me that you were not busy," what was it with everyone throwing my schedule around in this family? Why does he know when I am not busy?
"I was busy." I gritted out.
"What exactly were you doing, I know there was no event, France would have said something." he continued. I didn't need to explain myself to anybody, especially not to him, I just wanted to text Irene in peace but he seemed to not be getting the hint.
"I was busy." I repeated, maybe this time he would get the hint. He seemed to be adamant about knowing because he continued.
"Doing what exactly? Your mom tried to call but you did not pick up her call, Franny called, France called, Sophie called."
"Sophie?" I whipped my head up, hearing her name. Why did fuck was she calling me?! I had her name blocked from my phone after that while debacle almost a month ago.
"Is that the only thing you picked up in this entire conversation Frederick?" He folded his arms.
"That's the only relevant thing, father." I answered. "Why was Sophia at dinner?"
He stared at me, as if I couldn't be anymore serious. He shook his head, in disbelief.
"I cannot believe that you still want to do this?" he shook his head and sat on the free chair he was next to.
"Do what? I just asked a question, why was Sophia at dinner?" I folded my arms. I was not going to let things slide, I might have only been dating Irene for a month but I didn't care. I would entertain anyone else and I would allow my family to do so on my behave especially if that person is Sophia Williamson.
"Frederick it was years ago. You cannot continue to hold to such hurt, you are a man." he admonished.
I wanted to scoff at the irony, the entire reason I hated him was because he could not let things go. He was a stunt believer and I didn't want to deal with all of that.
