Eric's POV

Undisclosed location...

Oklahoma City.

Blue Galaxy pack.

That's where my family and the other exiles are now making their home, thriving and being their best selves even after that runt they favored is long gone.

They're going to be reunited with that rat soon enough. But not yet. Acting too soon would spell disaster and I'd be put down before I could get the ball rolling. That won't do one bit.

No.

I'll start out small just to get a rise out of my parents and Elisse. Then the real games begin!

Everyone thinks I'm a disgrace to my kind. I think I'm just a scorned young Alpha who's been backstabbed one time too many. But I'll show them the monster that they painted me out to be. Once I end everyone who refused my birthright or get in my way, the kingdom of wolves will be mine for the taking!

It's time to give everyone what they rightfully deserve! Let the games begin!

Third-Person POV

Downtown Oklahoma City...

Gentle reader, love was definitely in the air for Elisse and Anissa as their respective mates Pietro and Joel both arranged for them a double-date night at Chaney's, an upscale bar and grill. It was needed because they knew that today marked the birthday of the late Tauren Knox as well as two days before the ill-fated day when the fallen Omega was taken away from the girls.

"This is so great of you guys," Anissa gushed as, Elisse, Joel, and Pietro followed the waiter to their table and were seated before accepting their menus. "I never heard of this place before."

"It's one of those restaurants that cater to both worlds- the human and supernatural, that is," Joel said. "This is where my mom and dad had their first date as did my brother and sister-in-law. But I wanted to take you guys here because I wanted to start a new tradition as friends and fellow mates."

Pietro nodded. "Sounds fair," he replied as he perused his Underhill-approved menu since his diet was different from the shifters. "Just as long as you and Anissa know that Elisse and I are exclusive for only each other. We don't do open relationships and my mother Isladora wouldn't approve."

"Who would?" Elisse remarked.

That elicited a laugh all around before Anissa' face became serious. "I only wish that Tauren was here," she couldn't help but remark. "He might've loved this place and wanted to try a bit of everything since he never got the chance to leave the pack lands back in Stillwater."

"Wait, what?" Joel couldn't help but remark.

"That's true," Elisse replied. "My asshole brother made it clear that if Tauren tried leaving his room- a small attic with not much save for some blankets; he'd be killed on the spot by his parents, Trenton, Eric himself, or any of their allies if not all of them. Tauren was an Omega so he had to submit to the rules placed on him. He couldn't go anywhere or enjoy the same rights. Sometimes he'd be lucky to be spared a day of beatings, which was extremely rare since everyone who agreed with Mr. and Mrs. Knox loved to take out their rage on him with fists. They even set up a 'punch for pay' system so everyone could pay to beat up Tauren as a stress reliever while filling the pack's coiffeurs."

Joel shook his head in dismay, his wolf growling in contempt. "That's just sick in all the wrong ways," he replied. "What kind of person does that?"

"Eric Girbaud," Anissa replied. "I can never forgive him for how he rejected and killed my brother despite how it had to happen as prophesized by the gods. Tauren was an Omega who was born in the wrong family and he needed someone to love him for him, not be treated like a chew toy. He was brave enough to accept his fate with a calmness that I wish I could have while only wishing me and everyone else who treated him with kindness the best. He's finally free from the misery, but I can only imagine what could've been if Tauren was exiled instead of slaughtered."
