Clark
It had been several months since Clark met Scarlet for the coffee and chat. He had kept himself busy.
His house was sold for a massive profit, and it was a quick sale. Which gave him time to look into different career paths. He had his law degree, but he didn't want to practice. Instead, he thought about teaching law. He would need to go and study again, which he was excited about.
Clark often thought about Scarlet, but he didn't reach out. That was until Anthony called him up, saying that Scarlet was asking Charlotte for the new apartment address.
After some confusing thoughts, he agreed to let Ant share it.
About an hour later, there was a knock at the door.
Scarlet
I was sweating, my hands shaking.
"What if he doesn't want me anymore?" Scarlet thought to herself.
Her hand lifted up to knock. She had to do this. It was time.
A minute after Scarlet managed to get up the courage to knock, the door opened. Clark was smiling, and he looked gorgeous.
"Hi Clark." She spoke.
"I needed to talk to you. I hope you don't mind me coming over?"
"Of course not." He replied.
"You are always welcome."
Clark opened the door wide and invited her in. He was dreading it a little. Was she expecting a baby with Cam? Is that why she was here to soften the blow?
The pair sat, and Scarlet looked nervous.
"Scar, what's up? You are scaring me now."
"Clark, um, I don't know where to start. Well, here it goes....
Taking a deep breath, she told Clark about everything that happened with Cam. Him seeing them and his realisation.
Clark was quiet through it all. His confusion is evident.
"Clark. Say something. Please."
"What does this mean, Scar? I am not jumping to conclusions or hoping."
"Ok. Clark. I am still in love with you, I don't think I ever really stopped. Cam knew it, so we ended. It has taken me a few months to get my head around everything. All you have been through and are still going through has made me realise that we can get over our past and have a great future. If you want that?"
"If I want that?"
Before Scarlet could say anything else, Clark took her lips with his in a deep and all-consuming kiss.
"I want this more than my next breath, Scar." He said between kisses.
"Thank you for giving me a chance."
The kiss then turned into touches, but they did not make love.
Deciding to wait and take things slow. Clark needed to make Scarlet aware of all his past. He has accepted it, and now he needs to share.
Triggers; Physical abuse and unwanted attention and touches.
"Scar, I need to tell you everything." And that is what he did. She listened intently.
"Right, you know about the verbal abuse from my dad. Well, it wasn't just him.
When we started going to my dad's firm, my grandfather was still there. My Dad had nothing on him. There was also my grandad's assistant. She was as mean as they come.
