Stuck in the Middle (sequel to fearless leader)

THE CHASE

"We're off to Amity we've received information that the fugitives are thanking refuge there any questions" Max orders I hear a few groans including Eric he hates Amity they are too peaceful and happy I elbow him

"Max I have a question so I have to go to the drugged up faction" I ask I hear a few snorts we all knew they where high on peace serum it was no secret

"Yes it is not optional" he boomed "as much as I would like it to be" he mumbled the last part we all boarded the train and made our way to Amity I could only hope that Four see's us coming and runs because I know being head leader I will be forced to shoot him. We jumped off the train and walked to the entrance to Amity I was at the front with 50 armed soldiers behind me I walked up to Joanna

"What a pleasure to see you Tina are you feeling well" Joanna asked in a nice voice

"Like you care" I snap she shakes her head

"You have too much anger inside you it's going to kill you" she put a hand on my shoulder I wasn't used to people caring apart from Eric but he never brought up my anger I turn to face Joanna

"You know your the only one that's noticed that and I appreciate it but honestly Joanna there's no point trying to help I'm too broken" I say sweetly she looks at me concerned she reminded me of the mother figure I never had it was nice

"It's never too late to find peace no matter how broken you are you just have to wait for it" she advises I nod and broaden my shoulders

"Enough of me were here to check the faction for divergent's if that's okay with you" I say

"Fine by me just don't cause a commotion" she warns with that the dauntless soldiers march off Eric grabs me by the soldier

"What was all that about" he hissed I glared at him

"She reminded me of the mother figure I never had she cared about me she's the only one that's ever noticed my anger that is slowly killing me and one day will kill me so I'm sorry Eric if I was happy that she noticed I didn't have a mum like you who cleaned me up after I fell and kissed me goodnight my mother died because of me I was beaten and told to toughen up and I was locked in a cupboard every night" by now tears were rolling down my eyes Eric looked guilty

"I'm sorry I know you didn't have the best childhood but you need to act professionally now let's go" he walked off he could be so arrogant sometimes he said something to Joanna then went behind her I walked to were the rest of the dauntless soldiers were checking Amity they seemed to be doing fine so I walked back to Eric and Joanna I looked behind her and saw Eric stroking a horse I walked up to him

"You like horses?" I ask but it sounded more like a statement he looked at me

"I always wanted one since I was six" I look at him in shock

"Never knew, why didn't you say" I question he laughs shaking his head

"I thought you would think of me as pathetic and you know me I'm very conscious of what people think of me" I shake my head

"I'll take you horse riding one day and for the record I don't think your pathetic I love horses" we both smile I put my head on his shoulder treasuring this moment we never be able to smile and relax again

"ERIC THERE UP HERE" we hear a familiar voice shout it wasn't a soldier I couldn't figure out who's it was but Eric was off like a bolt up the stairs I followed only to see Peter

"PETER WHERE DID THEY GO" Eric demanded

"Out the window" we quickly rushed over to the window to see Four, Tris, Marcus and Caleb running away Eric runs down the stairs and goes to chase them I walk over to Peter and arrest him

"Your an idiot you know that" I snap he laughs

"Im and idiot says the woman who's engaged to the man who's gonna kill her brother congrats by the way" he mocked I shoved him against the wall

"He's not my brother anymore he made his bed now he's gonna lay in it but it's more like a coffin get the picture" I say lowly

"Faction before blood right" he raises an eyebrow

"Exactly" I say shoving him towards the stairs and handing him to the guard I run after Eric I soon catch up "were did they go" I ask

"Through the woods" he said coldly great Eric's in leader mode I roll my eyes

"So what's the fucking plan" I was now growing angry with Eric's blunt answers

"I don't know your the head leader so fucking lead us" I glared at Eric

"CHASE THEM DOWN AND SHOOT THEM, SHOW NO MERCY" with that everyone ran off towards the woods I could hear gunshots I ignore the thoughts in my head telling me I was two faced and ran to join in I could see Eric at the front shooting at Four, Tris and Caleb Four stopped to shoot at us he ran out of bullets he caught my eye he looked hurt before yelling something at Tris she started shooting at us while Four ran a train was coming so he sped up he jumped the train almost hit him I slightly wished it had so I didn't have to kill him Eric ran at the train trying to shoot them but they had jumped on but he continued to shoot at the train but soon accepted defeat

"Eric" I walked up to him but he spun round and pointed a gun at my head I feared the rage that danced in his eyes but looked at him emotionless fearless...
