"T-there is a member of the twelve Kizuki here." The words came out of the now dying demon's mouth, stunning Nezuko.
"What? Wait!" Nezuko futilely ran to the disintegrating demon. Trying to pry more information from it before it truly went.
"Be careful..." There was something poetic about the demon's final words being one to help another slayer. Nezuko felt something in her heart ache when she heard them. However, the fight wasn't over yet. She wondered how Murata and Zenitsu were doing but she had confidence that they could each hold their own.
(So there is a demon moon on this mountain huh? Master Shinobu told me about them, they were supposedly the most powerful and dangerous demons in the entire world, and Muzan's main attack force.) Nezuko thought for a moment, (I should probably regroup with Inosuke. Facing a demon moon on my own would be dangerous.)
Nezuko and Inosuke managed to make their way to each other. They met near the place where Nezuko beheaded the demon that was possessing the slayers.
"Oi, Newoku! Did you get the demon?" Inosuke ran up to Nezuko and slightly nudged her.
"Yes, I managed to get it. It was-" a sound of thunder interrupted Nezuko. "Inosuke did you hear that? Did lightning strike the mountain?"
"Heh? How should I know?" Inosuke continued walking, his wounds were still visible and blood covered his shoulders. Nezuko thought of making Inosuke descend the mountain so he could recover but he knew the boar wouldn't allow himself to leave from a fight.
As the two continued walking by a river, trying to find more demons. They heard the sound of water splashing from the other side, Nezuko who was already on edge quickly spun on her heel, she saw a much younger looking female demon on the other side of the river. She looked similar to the one Nezuko had just killed, having similar markings on her face, she had a fearful expression plastered on her face and quickly ran from the demon slayers.
"Ohohoho! Where are you running off to!" Inosuke quickly gave chase, running across the stone platforms on the river.
"Ah! Father!" The demon screamed, running from the raging boar behind her.
"Who are you calling 'father'?" Inosuke yelled back but his path was soon blocked by a hulking mass of a demon. As it landed in the water, it nearly split the river due to its sheer mass and momentum.
Inosuke quickly jumped away from the demon, it's ferocious roar setting fear into the two slayer's hearts.
"Don't come near my family! Stay away!" The demon threw a powerful punch at Inosuke, shifting the flow of the river with the sheer power of his strike.
Despite the demon's large size and lumbering body, it was also surprisingly fast. As Inosuke dodged the previous punch, the demon locked on to his location, swiftly throwing another wild punch while Inosuke was still airborne.
Nezuko saw that if she didn't intervene her friend would be turned into a pile of flesh and bone. "Flower breathing, second form: Honourable Shadow Plum!"
Nezuko leaped into the air and began unleashing a series of twisting sword slashes, as her blade sliced into the demon's arm, it wasn't able to make any deep cuts due to the incredibly hard skin the demon had possessed.
(Argh! It's no use! The blade won't go through!) Nezuko tried to commit more into cutting the demon's arm but no matter how much strength she used it was practically a fool's errand.
The demon saw Nezuko trying to cut it's arm and moved it's other arm back, preparing to punch Nezuko off while she was stuck to his arm. As the fist flew threw the air aiming to hit Nezuko, Inosuke stepped in and using both of his swords to also attempt to cut the demon's arm. Yet he also quickly learned of the tough skin the demon had.
