Tornado chasing was a death-defying game of predator versus prey. The euphoric thrill of driving straight into the eye of a live storm was addicting. Anyone that survived the encounter had no other choice but to come back for seconds, too intoxicated by the adrenaline rush to think rationally about the danger of pursuing a rampant twister.

Capturing the storm was once Lola Grimes dream. The science mixed with the unknown behind the birth of tornadoes pulled her by the pig tails to look, but the mass destruction left in a tornadoes trail made her stay, her boots planted in the ground as she worked to capture every story through the lens of her cheap camera. It was a beautiful idea, but that's all dreams were: childish fantasies that had no place in the real world. The simple ability to believe in something impossible was dangerous, converting the dreamer to a religion centered around themselves, intoxicating feelings of hope and faith leading them blindly on a thin tightrope.
