Rob's POV

I lightly stumbled my fingers against the dining room table and watched the man in the kitchen make me coffee. Man, it seems like it was just yesterday when I asked Preston to be my boyfriend. I was oh so nervous that he'll say no or something but it made me the happiest guy on Earth when he didn't reject me.

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee beans filled the entire house, making it smell like a neighborhood café. There was a slight clack when Preston grabbed a white coffee mug from the cabinet. He was humming a song to himself as he looked for some creamer to go with the coffee. For the past couple of days Preston has been somewhat distant. Wait no, his been distant ever since Mr. Felix called on the fourth of July to check up on us or whatever.

The holiday was around a week ago, so pretty much Preston has been like this for a week. At first I thought it was my fault, so after my shift at work I brought Preston a bouquet of Marigolds. When I showed him the flowers he took off running out the door crying. I was so worried but it subsided when Brandon told me Preston drove to his place.

Hmm on the fourth of July, we were in the middle of popping fireworks at Mama Prestons with a few of Prestons family members when Mr. Felix called. After he did Preston didn't seem the same. He didn't pop anymore fireworks, he stopped socializing with his family and we ended up going home early.

I talked to Lachlan about it and he said not to stress about it, that he's probably on his man period or something. I don't know, I just hope that Preston is okay. I want the goofy cheeky Preston back. Not the humming to myself all the time distant Preston.

I ran my hand threw my always messy hair and went back to looking at Preston. He had on a pair of low hanging black basketball shorts with a grey T-shirt on. I watched his movements as he stirred the creamer and sugar into the coffee and put the coffee pot back.

A soft buzzing came from my phone as I read the alarm I set for work. Shit, I have work in twenty minutes.

Preston came from out of the kitchen and set the coffee cup in front of me. I told him thank you and sipped the hot caffeinated liquid. I don't know why he had insisted that he only made me a cup but I was just happy he even talked to me. I looked up and saw Preston fumbling with his fingers on the table. His eyes were concerned on anything but me, which made me feel a bit cold even though I'm drinking coffee.

After about five minutes I drowned down the coffee and was about to stand up but Preston put his hand over mine and looked at me with tear rimmed eyes.

"We need to talk."

I never thought four words would ever bring my world to a halting stop.

A/N: IT'S ABOUT TO GO DOWN GUYS!
