Part 4 Day-Night
The heart is a strange thing. The most strangest thing of the human body,mind, or soul.
If you were to ask someone what the heart was you'd usually get two responses. The less complicated one they'd tell you was that the heart was simply an organ in your chest simple as that. The more complicated one was the one their mother told himself and his brother when they were very little.
"The heart is the part of a human that holds all of your emotions. The good ones, the bad ones, and even the neutral ones that we don't always use. No two hearts are alike and everyone's hearts are different. Whether it's good, bad, or something else is entirely up to you."
So if he asked someone what the heart is then they might tell him that it's where the human body stores it's love and it's a good part of you. However that's only a partial truth. A heart can store love but still be evil. A heart could still care about someone else while you perform the most vile crimes with bare hands. Not all hearts were good. In fact it's entirely wrong to say the heart is automatically good when in fact it's where all emotions come forth from. When that's the case, he was sure his own heart was a rotting apple from outside appearance to the very core.
Rotten but still able to hold feelings of enjoyment and love.
He loved and adored his mother. A part of himself died the day she was taken away from him by death. He loved his twin the same. They were like two halves of the same life. He could not and did not want a life without him there and vise versa. It's why Yoriichi was the second prince still instead of killed or sent away by their father. ...He held no real love for the man that partially was responsible for him existing. He was only there until death claimed him as well.
However nothing made his heart bleed out more than the one who formed a knife made out of the love he didn't know existed and stabbed him hard and deep in the chest. The wound Cupid's arrow caused by piercing his dark heart bleeds out for her, so he would seek what his body needed to heal. The hurting desire pangs him so. His chest physically hurting some days where his heart beats fought against the irrationality of it all but nothing truly was effective. Not when they were younger and he thought she was a man. Not when she was hurt defending them. Not when she fought alongside them as equals and killed people to defend their lands.
