It was finally the weekend. Saturday morning, Iyana got a call from Mina. She had been folding the laundry when she picked up her phone. Mina had invited her to her place for a few hours to hangout.

Iyana was enjoying life, it was becoming suspicious. It's like when something is too good to be true. That was Iyana's life right now. Usually, when her life was going good, it eventually goes downhill quickly.

It was like freshman year of highschool, when Iyana had a huge friendgroup. She absolutely loved having friends around her, it was energizing. That was until it went downhill.

Her friends ghosted her completely. They avoided her at all costs, unless they were asking Iyana for the homework answers.

Iyana hated it, when she was being so blatantly used. They always called Iyana a 'killjoy' since they snuck out to attend parties while Iyana wasn't allowed to go out with them with her strict parents.

On the upside, not long after that, she got closer to Hakagure; who eventually became her best friend.

Iyana finishes folding the laundry and goes to ask her dad if she could leave. Mina's invites were always spontaneous, as if the plan popped up in her head and decided to text Iyana that exact second.

In the kitchen, Taro was standing by the kitchen island sipping on a cup of coffee and flipping through a newspaper.

The best time to ask parents for something was when they were distracted, which meant that they would say yes to anything without a second thought since their mind was on something else.

"Dad?" Iyana plays with the rings on her fingers as he looks up from his newspaper, "Can I go to Mina's house to hangout with her?"

He tilts his head, "Who's Mina?" He questions.

Iyana mentally facepalms. Her dad was never one to be good at remembering names. He doesn't even remember Hakagure's name, even after being friends with her for a long time.

"She's my friend." Iyana answers earnestly. Taro nods and goes back to reading his news paper.

He waves his hand around in agreement, "Yeah, sure. Stay safe." His hand reaches for his coffee mug to take another sip.

Iyana lets out a giddy smile as she rushes to her room to get ready.

She walks past her brother's room and stops for a brief moment. Many people didn't know Iyana had an elder brother, since nobody ever mentioned him.

Iyana shakes her head and walks into her bedroom. She goes through her closet for something to wear to the hangout.

Hakagure was the one to 'fix up' Iyana's wardrobe. She had described it as grandma wear and immediately took her shopping, even lending out her own clothes that she didn't wear.

Iyana couldn't lie, Hakagure's style in clothing was nice. She wore really feminine and girly outfits, while Iyana preferred it on the casual side. Her wardrobe was a mixture of the two.

She opens up the closet, going through the hangers and pulling out a pair of baggy jeans and a baby tee.

Iyana eyes the clothing. Maybe she should wear a skirt? She decided to stick with the jeans for now since she was just going to hangout with Mina in her house.

Iyana rushes around to get ready, putting on her jewellery and makeup. She reaches her hands down to tie her shoelaces then exits the house.

Mina's place was a very short walk of only two minutes. Iyana wondered what the house would look like. Since they were on vacation, it was probably rented or a house they borrowed to stay in.
