COLBY'S POV

I paced back and forth in my living room, my heart racing with anticipation.

I had been planning this moment for what felt like an eternity, and the time had finally arrived. I was going to propose to my girlfriend, Y/n.

As I walked, I couldn't help but think about the journey that had brought me to this point.

I remembered the first time I saw her in college, her bright smile and infectious laugh drawing me in.

I remembered our first date, our first kiss, and our first adventure together. And now, I was ready to take the next step.

But as I thought about getting down on one knee and asking Y/n to be my wife, my nerves began to get the better of me.

What if she said no?

What if she wasn't ready? What if I wasn't ready?

I stopped pacing and took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.

I looked around the room, taking in the romantic setup I had created.

Candles flickered, flowers bloomed, and Y/n's favorite wine chilled in the fridge.

I had even hired a musician to play our song in the background.

Just as I was starting to feel a little better, I heard the door open.

Y/n was home. My heart skipped a beat as I watched her walk into the room, a smile on her face.

"Hey, babe," she said, dropping her purse on the couch.

"What's all the fuss about?"

I forced a smile onto my face, trying to play it cool.

"Just a little surprise," I said, trying to sound casual.

Y/n raised an eyebrow. "A surprise, huh? Well, I love surprises."

I took another deep breath and gestured to the table. "Dinner is served," I said, trying to sound suave.

Y/n's eyes widened as she took in the spread before her.

"Wow, Colby, you really outdid yourself," she said, her voice full of emotion.

As we sat down to eat, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride.

I had put my heart and soul into this moment, and it was paying off. Y/n was happy, and that's all that mattered.

But as the night wore on, my nerves began to get the better of me again. I knew I had to propose, but I was scared.

What if everything changed after this moment?

Just as I was starting to work myself up into a frenzy, Y/n reached across the table and took my hand.

"Colby, what's wrong?" she asked, her eyes full of concern.

I took a deep breath and looked into her eyes.

"I just want to make sure you're happy," I said, my voice shaking.

Y/n smiled and squeezed my hand. "I am happy, Colby. I'm happy when I'm with you."

In that moment, all of my fears melted away. I knew that I was ready to spend the rest of my life with Y/n.

I got down on one knee, pulled out the ring, and asked the question I had been wanting to ask for so long.

"Y/n, from the moment I met you, I knew that you were something special. Will you marry me?"

Tears of joy streaming down her face
Y/n said yes.

I placed the ring on her finger, and we shared a kiss as the musician played our song in the background.

As we hugged, I knew that I had made the right decision.

I was ready to spend the rest of my life with Y/n, and I couldn't wait to see what the future held for us.
