The class with Duke Alexander of Ravenswood ended, and as the students rose from their seats, the room buzzed with chatter. I gathered my belongings, my mind still processing the intricate concepts he had shared. The day was far from over, though, and our next class was with Lady Owen, the school principal and my aunt.

Edward, who had helped me find my way to this class, walked beside me as we headed to the next room. I couldn’t help but feel a mix of curiosity and nerves—Lady Owen was known for her rigorous standards, and this would be the first time she would be addressing our class.

We entered the room, which was more imposing than any of the other classrooms. Its walls were lined with ancient tomes, and the air was thick with a sense of old magic. Lady Owen stood at the front, her presence commanding as always.

“Settle down, everyone,” she called out. Her voice, though calm, held an authority that quickly silenced the room. “Today, you will introduce yourselves to me and to each other. You will speak of your lineage, your magical abilities, and what you intend to achieve here at the Royal Academy.”

The room fell into a hushed silence, the weight of her words clear to everyone. Lady Owen’s gaze swept across the room before landing on me.

“Catherine,” she said, her voice steady, “why don’t you begin?”

I stood up slowly, feeling the eyes of my classmates on me. But I met their gazes with a calm I wasn’t sure I fully felt. “I am Princess Catherine Walker of the Narva Kingdom, daughter of King Johnathan Walker and Queen Victoria. My magic...is rare and has been kept hidden for most of my life. But I am here to uncover its full potential and to learn how to control it.”

As I finished, the room erupted into whispers. The other students seemed shocked—they had heard of Narva, of course, but they had never seen me at the royal events they all attended. I had spent my life behind the closed doors of our castle, my existence almost a secret.

Lady Owen nodded, her face giving away nothing. “Thank you, Catherine. You may sit.”

I took my seat, aware that the eyes of the room were still on me. Edward gave me an encouraging nod, and I found myself reassured by his quiet support.

One by one, the other students stood to introduce themselves:

- **Lady Arabella Blackwood of Ravenswood:** A tall, elegant girl with raven-black hair. “I am Lady Arabella of the Ravenswood family. My magic is tied to the element of air, and I seek to master it to uphold my family’s honour”

- **Lady Isabella Ashford of Ashbourne:** A girl with golden curls and a confident demeanour. “I am Lady Isabella of the Ashbourne line. My magic is linked to the power of light, and I am here to perfect my control over it.”

- **Princess Eleanor of Estoria:** A graceful young woman with a regal bearing. “I am Princess Eleanor of Estoria. My magic is tied to the earth, and I intend to use it to strengthen my kingdom.”

- **Lady Cecilia of Harrington:** A quiet girl with sharp blue eyes. “I am Lady Cecilia of Harrington. My magic is connected to water, and I am here to refine my abilities.”

- **Lord Theodore of Harrington:** A tall boy with a strong build. “I am Lord Theodore of Harrington, Cecilia’s brother. My magic is also connected to water, and I am here to learn how to wield it with greater precision.”

- **Lord Frederick of Ashbourne:** A serious-looking boy with dark eyes. “I am Lord Frederick of Ashbourne, Isabella’s brother. My magic is tied to shadows, and I aim to master it.”

- **Lord Sebastian of Langley:** A charming boy with a quick smile. “I am Lord Sebastian of Langley. My magic is linked to fire, and I seek to harness its power.”

- **Lord Henry of Ravenswood:** A boy with sharp features and a calculating look. “I am Lord Henry of Ravenswood, Arabella’s cousin. My magic is tied to ice, and I plan to use it to protect my family.”

- **Princess Beatrice of Langley:** A girl with an imperious air. “I am Princess Beatrice of Langley. My magic is tied to storms, and I intend to show that I am the strongest in this room.”

Each introduction was met with murmurs of approval or surprise. These students were all from noble families, each with powerful magic, but I could feel their curiosity about me. I had been a mystery, someone who had never been seen at the events they all attended. My secluded life in Narva had kept me hidden, and now, I was finally stepping into the light.

Lady Owen looked over the room with an approving nod. “Now that you have all introduced yourselves, we will begin the lesson. The tasks ahead of you will require both your magical abilities and your intellect. Prepare yourselves.”

She then divided us into two groups: the alpha level, where I was placed along with Edward, Lady Arabella, Princess Eleanor, Lady Cecilia, Lord Theodore, Princess Beatrice, and Lord Frederick; and the beta level, where the other students were grouped. Lady Owen then instructed her secretary, Mary, to assist the beta group, while Lilibet was made the supervisor for our alpha group.

With our groups set, Lady Owen gave us our tasks and dismissed the class. As we made our way to the new training room, I couldn’t help but feel that this was only the beginning. The true challenges were yet to come.
