After walking virtually around the whole school, I felt a numbness in my legs. "Lilibet, can we please stop here for today? My legs hurt," I said.
"Okay, that's enough for today," she told the school escort behind us. As they were about to leave, my cousin reached out to one of the escorts. "Miss Kate, kindly get us a driver to take us to the school hostel."
"Yes, miss," she replied.
A few minutes later, we were still waiting for the driver when Lilibet asked if I still loved flowers.
"Flowers? My love for them can never die, especially roses. I planted a lot last season, even though they can't survive in winter without the living water."
"Catherine, how well do you know the 'HALL OF MAGIC'?" she asked. "I noticed something in you when I hugged you the other time."
I turned slightly to face her, knowing the truth in her words. "Hmm," I mumbled.
"As I was saying, the strength core of your power seems to have increased, even more than it was the last time we met. The HALL OF MAGIC isn't for those at the level of Lone; it's for those with the capacity to enter the 'Asantee'. You have great potential only if you are willing to unlock it," she said.
I bit my lip and looked away, unable to deny the truth in Lilibet's words. Seeing how dull the atmosphere became, I decided to ask her about her engagement with Prince Eric.
"Lilibet," I called, "how far has the arrangement gone with your proposed marriage to Prince Eric?"
She turned to look at me, and then she smiled. "The arrangements are going well, although we haven't had much time to talk in person. The only time I met him was at the kingdom congress, and it was just a formal greeting," she said.
"I think you two would make a great couple. From what I know of Prince Eric, he is a man of knowledge and understanding," I said.
Engrossed in conversation with Lilibet, Miss Kate showed up from behind. "Your Highnesses, the car has arrived," she said.
"Okay," Lilibet said. "Catherine," she called, "shall we?"
"Ooh, okay," was all I could utter, as my discussion with Lilibet was interrupted. Lilibet and I continued our discussion about Prince Eric, "soon to be king," in the car as we drove to the dormitory.
The walkway to the dormitory was lined with colourful flowers that swayed in the breeze, creating a fragrant and cheerful path. "So beautiful," I remarked.
Lilibet kept a straight face as we walked through the hallway. "So exhausting," I said to get Lilibet's attention.
"Catherine! I know what you're getting at," she said, giving off a little smile.
"I know you love seeing me smile, but currently, I'm at work, and I need to look professional," she said.
"Lilibet, all the same, you look beautiful when you smile," I said.
Lilibet turned to face me, giving me the most lovely smile ever. "Much better," I said.
After 15 minutes of walking through the dormitory hallway, we finally arrived at my room. Here at Royal Academy, each student is given their own personal room, including personal maids and a personal magic pet. I could not wait to find out the special breed that would be given to me. I forgot to mention that I love cats but was not allowed to have a personal one due to the policy within the castle. But here at Royal Academy, we get personal magic pets because the school believes it brings out the spirit of responsibility in each of us, as we are all responsible for its life.
"Catherine," Lilibet called. "It's nice having you at Royal Academy," she said.
"Your Highness, this way," another voice beckoned.
I followed the maid into my new room, and my breath was taken away. The room was spacious and elegantly decorated, with a large window that let in plenty of natural light. The walls were adorned with beautiful tapestries, and a plush rug covered the polished wooden floor. A four-poster bed with sheer, flowing curtains stood in the centre, and a cozy reading nook was tucked into one corner, complete with a small bookshelf filled with books.
A beautiful vase of roses sat on the bedside table, their fragrance filling the room. My heart swelled with happiness as I took in the beauty and comfort of my new space.
"Oh, Lilibet, it's perfect," I said, turning to her with a wide smile.
She smiled back at me. "I'm glad you like it. Make yourself at home, Catherine."
As I explored the room further, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for the adventures that awaited me at Royal Academy.
