AURIELA rested her head in her hands on her kitchen island, her skin feeling the cold marble counter. Two days ago, She saw Malachi. She went over to his house and felt things she hadn't felt since he left her. As much as she didn't want to, she felt a contagious feeling of a first love again.

Yet, when she left, getting into her car, and feeling alone, guilt became a tidal wave over her emotion of happiness. Jacob entered her mind.

I don't know what I'm doing anymore. I feel lost, and confused. I feel as if I'm myself around Malachi. I'm Auriela, Auri, Riela. Around Jacob, I feel like I'm just, Auriela Seyfried. She thought to herself.

Does that make sense?

Goddamnit. I'm wallowing in self-pity again. Focus, Auriela!

For her own sake, she decided to take a break from my phone. she needed one anyway, her body demanded for a social reset. (It was all Evelyn's doing.) Her phone was currently up in her room, and if she was honest and realistic with herself, this 'break' she'd be taking would last for another 20-30 minutes, max.

As she zoned out, her thoughts pondered. She wasn't leading on Jacob, he was a sweet guy, and definitely felt something towards him. (I think). But that's not the point. She wasn't leading him on, and she didn't plan to. Another thing she didn't plan to do was to catch feelings for Malachi again, and she hasn't! (I think.)

Her life wasn't a movie, she knew for herself she had to choose one. She couldn't have both of them, despite what Katherine Pierce said.

She closed her eyes for a second before lifting herself up from resting her head down, bringing her arms back to herself and hopping off her chair. Even if her life wasn't a movie, one thing she could do is avoid the problem for a good moment.

She walked over to her fridge, grabbing a water. Her head still in her thoughts. She hummed the melody of 'After Midnight' by Chappell Roan for a moment. She opened her carton of grapes, grabbing a vine of them before she put them under the sink to wash.

She popped one in her mouth, "Can't be a good, good girl even if I tried," she mumbled softly in melodic tone. She bobbed her head softly as the song played in her head, moving her body softly with the imaginary beat, leaning herself on her kitchen counter.

She popped another grape into her mouth before closing her eyes, "Cause after midnight, I'm feelin' kinda freaky, maybe it's the club lights," she sung softly as she danced to her own singing, getting up from the counter, her grapes still in her hand she moved.

"What the hell are you doing?" A sudden voice spoke, breaking her from her slightly embarrassing moment, making her whip her head around, she choked softly on her grapes when she met her older sisters eyes, she looked to the side of her and saw another one of her friends, Aryan Simhadri with a concerned look on his face.

She didn't know he was here. Why was he here? And why was he with her older sister? Whatever.

Auriela's mouth went agape, trying to speak but no sound came out. She moved her hands, trying to find a quick excuse. "I--Well--" Auriela cut herself off before sighing.

"I was feelin' myself." She said with a finally sigh. Evelyn squinted her eyes at her, holding back a laugh, covering it with an awkward smile before walking over and grabbing a grape.
"So weird." She told her.
"Says the one who has a Jake Peralta tapestry in her closet." Auriela snapped back at her, earning a side-eye from her, and a small hit on her arm, making her back away.  The two sisters heard a laugh from Aryan.
