The Great Ping Pong Scam

The day was just beginning as the bell rang for the great school of Hollywood arts, Tori walked through the front door texting on her phone as down the hall Andre, Robbie, Seth, and Cat were just chatting

"Oh, hey." Tori said smiling approaching them.

"Oh, hey, Tori." Cat said

"How's it going?" Robbie asked.

"Yo." Seth said

"What's up?" Andre responded.

"Well, after school I was thinking we should all go hang out at the grove. You wanna-wanna?" Tori asked

The four just gave awkward expressions and started to piss feeling bad because they had prior commitments. "We really can't." Cat said.

"How come?" Tori asked somewhat sad.

"Well, uh, we have ping pong practice." Robbie said as the other three nodded along

"Shut up." Tori said thinking they were joking.

"It's true." Seth said

"Yeah. We're all on the ping pong team." Robbie reiterated

"Me, Andre, Robbie, Seth, Beck and Jade." Cat said naming everyone

"There's no ping pong team at hollywood arts." Tori said calling them out confused

The four looked at each other awkwardly and lightly chuckled before Robbie approached Tori "Listen, Tori, um, you're still kinda new here and there's some things that you just don't under...." Robbie, then abruptly stopped and sniffed near Tori's mouth confusing her. "What kind of gum are you chewing?"

"I don't know. Sinjin made it." Tori answered confused.

"Smell her mouth." Robbie told Rex

"Sure." Rex then leaned in and sniffed Tori's mouth weirding her out even more. "Hmm, smells like that trip we took to Acapulco last year."

"Yes." Robbie said knowing it smelled familiar

"Oh, you have mexican-flavored gum?" Cat asked excited.

"Mexican is not a flavor!" Tori yelled.

"Thank you." Sinjin said randomly walking past the group down the hall.

"Ok, if you guys don't wanna hang out with me, then just say so. Why make up a lie that you're all on some ping pong team?" Tori said thevthem.

"Hey, Tori." Cat said like last time.

"How's it going?" Robbie said again.

"Yo." Seth said

"What's up?" Andre said again, all pretending to restart the conversation

"Okay, so now you're gonna pretend like we're not having the conversation we're having." Tori said getting a little annoyed

"About what?" Cat asked actually playing dumb.

"The big ping pong team lie." Tori reiterated before turning to walk to her locker.

"Look, if you don't believe us then go the rec room." Robbie said as the group followed behind her

"You can see all the trophies we've won." Cat added

"First place." Andre said.

"Every year." Seth chimed in.

"Really?" Tori asked looking to see if they were lying. The whole group gave a look that made it clear they weren't lying. "Okay. Then I wanna try out for the team." Tori said as everyone looked at each other awkwardly again. "What?"
