forever and always. that's what she told me...i believed her, i always do. that was before everything went wrong...who would've thought. a peasant and a princess, it's odd how the worlds of two polar opposites clash, but it's always so beautiful.

my dear, y/n

I know it's wrong, it must be, right? for
a princess to love another? my father
always told me i'd find my prince. is it
wrong to crave the touch of...

the touch of what? i groan, ripping the paper cleanly. crumpling it and aimlessly throwing it towards the growing pile of discarded paper surrounding the already overflowing trash bin. i turn to a blank page, sulking. scrawling something absentmindedly.

         my angel,
how am i meant to marry a prince when all i can think of is you on top of me-

Jesus Christ jenna, get a damn grip on yourself! I scowl at the page and crumple it again, discarding it to the ever flowing pile of failed attempts to state my thoughts.

my dearest, y/n
the way you seem to fit flawlessly inside your own skin baffles me. you're perfect, anyone could see that. but the fact that you're aware of it is so endlessly attractive. i couldn't keep my eyes from straying to you, even if my father would present me with what our society deems as a perfect man, i'd still crave your touch above all other.

i groan. "god- this is so horrible" i mutter, the words muffled by my hands which i've pressed over my face in distress. god, who do i think i am? writing all this mindless poetry that she'll never see. i frown and set my pen beside my ever shrinking stack of paper on my desk, retreating to my bed in defeat. i can't believe im still kidding myself, who am i to love a girl i only see when noone else is watching?

it's not like she'd ever fall in love with me anyways...sure, maybe words on a paper. but me? if she really knew what i'm like. i've always wanted a boyfriend. my prince charming. but all those fantasies came crashing down as soon as i met her, she opened my eyes. showed me that love is more than stupid royal gatherings and showing off your newly wed to the public.

i feel free with her. like i don't have to be shown off by a prince who only wants me for my money, and maybe my looks. she cares. if you'd have told me that moonlit walks on the beach with a girl everyone claims would never turn my head is better than a knight in shining armor 'saving' me from a life i never needed saving from, i'd have scoffed in dismay.

truthfully? she's all i live for, but does she even spare me a second glance?

all i could think of was jenna. she was constantly flooding my thoughts. i couldn't focus with housework, everytime id start she'd come along and disrupt my peace with those startlingly dangerous brown eyes, and that voice i could listen to for hours talk about the stupid expectations of a princess.

god, why did i have to fall in love with a princess? it's torture, knowing that no matter how many times i stare at her, just longing to be hers...she'll never catch me staring...never give me a chance to be at her side. no matter how many times we meet in the dead of night, reunited at last on the sand of the beach we first met. I could never be with her, she's... well... she's Jenna! she's so perfect and amazing and i could never compete with the princes that came to the castle to woo her.

I mean, how could i even try?! The perfect prince's, coming every day to her perfect castle to try and capture her heart, piercing mine right through the middle in the process. God, i just wish i were allowed to confess to her, allowed to tell her how much i truly adore her. But im not...I'm not allowed to tell her.

I stare at the letter in my hands, is it good enough? Is it worthy of such a beautiful mesmerizing woman?? I sigh as I read over the words yet again, practically etched into my brain from the amount of times I've read it over. Read it, second guessed, and rewrote it countless times. Will I ever write a letter worthy of that beautiful, perfect woman??

Oh well, as long as I write something close to perfect. Maybe, if i write a letter so heartfelt- just maybe I could turn her head my way...

"Jenna! Come downstairs darling! Don't keep this gallant boy waiting!" I groan at the sound of my father's voice. How I've learned to dread every time my father calls me down, no matter how many times I tell him I'm not interested in marriage-...well, not to a prince at least.

God I can't stand them, the snobby way they act, how their only hobby seems to be talking endlessly about their so claimed accomplishments. Y/ns never bragged about anything, hell- it's a miracle if she even accepts a compliment I give her.

I glared at the prince as he walked in. He was the exact  same as all the rest, snobby, rich, and, well, a man. I wanted something else and that all I thought about during the meeting, her.
