y/ns pov

i hear a strangely familiar voice grumble something near the doorway. glancing over to see who it is and taken aback at the sight of jenna ortega herself at the door. i can't help the small smile of amusement that forms on my face as she walks in, wearing a oversized hoodie and hair tousled from sleep. "someone woke up late?" someone whispers, and it takes me about 5 seconds to realize it was my voice...who the hell am i teasing the jenna ortega...

i try to keep myself from staring, but her outfit is...something else. her messy hair, tired eyes, and stumbled footsteps are...utterly adorable to say the least. i notice jenna's eyes widen slightly as she sees me, unbothered by her appearance for everyone else...but i can't help but wonder if the blush forming on her cheeks is my imagination.

"oh- i...i'm so sorry, i didn't think you would be here yet" i smile softly at her words, my own eyes filled with amusement meet hers, which are filled with a mix of adorable embarrassment and...something else. "it's your first day on set" i say, voice lightly teasing. her eyebrows crease with guilt, making my own wide smile falter just slightly. "i- i know...im sorry- i slept through my alarms- i just-" i chuckle and roll my eyes, gently pressing a finger to her lips, god her lips..., to shut her up. feeling my own heart speed up at the feeling of her soft pouting lips against my finger.

i bite the inside of my cheek and force back a blush, tilting my head slightly. "don't apologize" i whisper, miraculously managing to keep the waver out of my voice. i see her eyes momentarily soften, something that looks almost like...longing, showing for a split second. but she hardens her gaze almost instantly. "ok..." she says softly, making me smile and hesitantly remove my finger. she smiles and carefully sits in the chair, and as i turn to gather my supplies i can almost see her attempt to fix her hair and straighten out her hoodie.

i bite my tongue to stifle a smile, turning back to her carefully and setting the makeup on the vanity, arranged in a particular order, i gently tilt her head up, holding her cheek just a moment longer than necessary...it doesn't go unnoticed. i see her shift slightly in the chair, but instead of further away like i expected...she leans into the touch of my hand. flustered i turn and focus on the makeup, glancing up to admire her flushed face in the mirror, decorated with a rosy blush. i smile to myself and turn to apply her foundation.

as i tilt her face every now and then i feel a slight jump, as if im still not used to her leaning into my hand. my eyes catch hers, meeting her admiring gaze with something eerily similar, looking away shyly and focusing on the makeup. "you're hands are soft" she says softly, making me jump. god- why does she have to say things like that...

"oh- thank you" i mumble back, too nervous to put together anything more complex than that. "you're more than welcome" her voice is warm...some would even say flirty. "i do hope you'll stick around for future projects...i really like you, y'know?" my heart leaps at her words, hiding my giddiness behind a soft, unrevealing smile. "...i'd love to, you're definitely top client right now" i say, matching her flirtatious energy. "i'd really hope so...you're different...i'd love if i could call you mine, permanently"

her words send a jolt of warmth through my body, making me undeniably flustered as my mind scrambles in pure joy. god...she can't just- "o-oh...well-" i pause, forcing myself to calm down. "i'd be happy to be yours- uh- your permanent...makeup artist" i mumble, cheeks burning with embarrassment.

i notice her slip up, heart fluttering at the words 'i'd be happy to be yours' ...god the thing this woman does to me, and i've just met her about 5 minutes ago..."mhm...i guess you're permanently mine then..." i say, voice concealing my nerves perfectly. the tension between us palpable as i hold her gaze, pouting as she looks away. "why do you keep doing that" i say, voice unnaturally soft, lacking it's usual sarcasm and lighthearted teasing. "doing what" she replies, feigning innocence.

"looking away..." i say, and before i can stop myself, my hand is on her face. cupping her cheek and surprising myself as much as her. "i-" i pull my hand away, embarrassed at how straightforward that was. "i'm so sorry, i don't-" but before i can even say another word she cuts me off with a kiss, my eyes widen before shutting, an content sigh escaping my nose as i kiss her back, gasping as she pulls away, my eyes flutter open. looking at her with a mix of love and happiness. "i-...um" i smile shyly, reaching up and carefully wiping some of my smudged lipstick off her bottom lip.

"s-so..." she murmurs, looking at me with an identical expression. my hand moves to hold her cheek yet again, following my instincts and doing what feels right. i smile as she leans against my hand, her eyes wide and soft, seeming just as shocked as i am by this situation. after a moment of just registering and admiring each other, she says "so...are- you...are you free after filming tonight?" i smirk, eyes soft. "why, you tryna ask me on a date?" i say, voice teasing despite my hope. "well...i- i was trying to keep things professional but...if you're offering" i smile at her words, "seems pretty unprofessional to me...but- i guess i could make an exception for you"
