Chapter 6

"I'm so glad you decided to come." Aiden says as the 4 of us walk towards the bus. "Yeah whatever shut up." I say as I stare forward.

"The whole group is here.." Ashlyn says as she says are project partners. "Alright everyone hop on the bus! We're almost ready to go!" Mr Walter says as everyone starts filing onto the bus.

Ashlyn went to grab a water bottle so I sit near the back of the bus waiting for her to come back. I rest my head against the window when I feel someone's gaze on me.

I look over and it's Aiden. "Can I sit here?" He asks me "n-" I blurt out but stop myself. I remember what my uncle mike said.

"Fine" I groan as I scooch over next to the window. I wondered how Ashlyn would feel about this. I saw her hop on the bus and look at me and Aiden.

He smiles at her obviously and I look at her like I need help, she just laughs at me and sits in the seat on the other side of us.

"Alright kids, the bus ride is 8 hours! And you all remember our chaperones?" Everyone nods as Mr Walter confirms. "Alright let's get this show on the road."

The bus starts and exits the school parking lot and down the roads of alto.

Mr and Aiden sit in silence for a little while before I look over at him and see him holding a rubics cube.

He smiles at me "wanna try it?" He says holding it out to me. "I'm not good at puzzles." I say as I look away.

"Oh come on! It will be good to pass the time! and I have tons!" He says opening his bag revealing it to be completely stuffed with puzzles.

"Fine." I say as I take it from his hand, Taylor also turns around and smiles when she sees his bag. "Oh can I try one to!?"

He hands her one and we were set after that. Me and Aiden didn't really talk much after that. It was a long 8 hours but we managed.

Once we arrived in Savannah I watched my old town fly by. I felt a pang of sadness, almost like I missed it.. but I could never bring myself to like this town again.

We got off the bus and Ashlyn and me cracked our backs and stuff while some of our group mates watched in horror while some watched in amazement. "Damn that was a long time." Ashlyn says.

"Alright everyone! Don't go to far and be back here at five pm!" Mr Walter says. I look around at my familiar town, noticing how much creepier it seemed then when I left.

"Hey Emi! You coming?" Aiden calls out as he notices I'm falling behind, I glare at him "don't call me that..."

We start walking through the city, they're taking in all the scenery while I'm reliving old memories.

"What should we do?" Tyler asks the group. "Well we haven't ate yet so why don't we go and do that first and then decide what to do from there." Logan says.

We all agree with his idea and head to a restaurant. We eat quickly and head out for some fun.

We went on a horse drawn carriage, visited local tourist sites, shops, you name it.

But when we went to a park and Taylor made us all do face painting. Ashlyn got musical notes, Ben moustache, aiden a smiley face, the twins got matching butterflies, and Logan got a bird.

I ended up getting flower designs painted on my face. I sat next to Ashlyn on the fountain looking at our group, "this isn't so bad." I whisper to her.

"We have forty minutes left." Taylor says "we should head back." She continues.

"Excuse me!" Someone shouts as they run towards us. "Would you be interested in a tour of the sorrel weed house?" She says stopping infront of us.

I look at the group and they return my confused glances. "A group cancelled last minute so we have an opening!" She says cheerfully.

"Wait really?" Taylor exclaims "this place is supposed to be super haunted! We gotta go!" She continues

"Is this really allowed.." I think to myself as we all enter the building. I watch the light of the outside world fade away.

"I don't like this.."
