anyone elses' brains make hcs for the sake of having hcs because why tf do i have headcanons and an oc for eiji's high school crush..

ANYWHO, EIJI CRUSH HEADCANONS

like i hc that eiji had a big crush on the captain of the boys volleyball team. i feel like he was a popular guy who was liked by a lot of girls but always ignored them, he was a grade higher than eiji. but when eiji latched onto him, he'd let eiji do so and even talk to him. he'd let eiji carry his bag for him and accompany him alone to do things like baking together or take photos. but right as eiji would start getting too close and begin wondering if he felt the same, he'd distance himself emotionally from eiji and eiji would feel dejected.

however, right when he would heavily consider getting over this crush he'd be led back on with flirty language, winks, and his crush getting really into his personal space. this cycle of doubt went on for nearly a year until eiji was running after him to give him his jacket that he left behind. eiji noticed his friend group and saw that he was speaking among them and laughing about something when he heard him say something in english; it was something about his "gullible gay friend" and he was joking how he should ask him if he wants to come to his sister's slumber party to paint his nails. after overhearing that, he was fed up and didnt forget to drop the guy's jacket in the nearest muddy puddle before never speaking to him again :)

i also headcanon that eiji, in hindsight, finds his school crush's nickname for him a little iffy because when ibe and his parents called him ei-chan, he knew it was meant in a familial sense. but with the guy, he feels like he was playing with him with the name not because it was a name with a sense of familiarity, but because it felt almost like he was calling eiji a shadow. in a sense, eiji was a bit of one to him, following him around all the time and being led on. he also would speak to him in english in a bit of a condescending tone, thinking eiji's english was really bad because he was raised in izumo and he spoke it aloud so clunkily. he never realized that eiji's reading, writing, and comprehension of english was stellar, however, and simply brushed him off as a slow learner because of his speaking ability.torn on what i wanna name this bully/crush guy but im probably gonna name him tachibana (after that one asshole in the cherry magic manga iykyk)

i never went thru this type of bullying in school but i feel like if eiji was ever bullied or picked on, it would've been this type of bullying that's covert and manipulative rather than the in-your-face kind of bullying.
