Cutting of fabric fills the air and its supposed to calm me down. It does. From all the underworld bullshit.

It's been three months since the attack. Three months since I changed my mind about the underworld. No more running. Deal with it and get over with it. I've been training with Kayden for the past three months and I'm familiar with boxing now. I wouldn't say that I'm an expert. Hell no. I just manage to block his unexpected punches.

I sigh and cut the cloth, pinning it onto the mannequin behind me. I'll be leaving to New York in two months for the fashion week and I'm finalizing the dress materials and the accessories. If I do good, then the CFDA would think about hiring me. Thanks to our dean and Mr. Johnson for helping me out.

Fashion designing was always my dream. When I was thirteen, I crashed across this youtuber who talked about the fashion industry. From there, I stole money from auntie and bought the latest vogue magazine and went through it. Then I had my own weird or creative ideas about having my own clothing brand, which I know won't come true, but still, teenage dreams are the best but also the worst. I always had an eye for Rihanna. She wasn't only my favorite music artist but also my favorite fashion icon. Not only her, Blake Lively, Zendaya, Lady Gaga, Lewis Hamilton etc., are my favorite too.

"Hey." A male's voice interrupts me and I turn my head to see Kai, holding few folders.

Speaking of Kai, he was the first person I spoke to after I joined QU. His parents own a clothing brand which is pretty popular in Europe.

"Hi." I smile and take the folders from him and keep it on the table then I open it, flipping through the pages, looking at the mood boards. "These look good." I nod.

"You look nervous." He says with concern etched in his voice, while leaning against the table next to me.

"Of course I am. It's NYFW." I chuckle, going through the next set of files. Who wouldn't be nervous? This is an important part of my life. This decides my career.

"I can get you in if you want." He says half jokingly, "You know my parents can butter them up and shower them with some euros."

I would love that. "I'll let you know." I close the files and look at him, "These look amazing. We can continue with this."

"Yes, ma'am." He smiles and takes the files with him. He studies my face, "Are you okay? You seem disturbed about something."

"I'm fine." I look away.

"Is this about Mason? You've been acting weird since he came back." He says.

I sigh, "I'm fine, Kai. It's just... a lot of things are going on in my head. I just need a break." I gather my things and leave. He catches my elbow, making me halt and I look at him.

"Just let me know if I can help you. Don't hesitate." He gives me a warm smile. "You have a nice smile, Kaya. Don't let anyone wipe it out." I breathe out a small laugh and nod. He's everything a women would dream of. A prince charming, a gentleman and a listener.
