“Lucian, where is your bathroom?” I asked as I got off his bed.
“Oh it’s that door on your left; I’ll bring some clothes for you to wear for now, until you get new ones.” He said as he passed me a robe from his wardrobe. I grabbed it and went straight to his bathroom.
I’m not surprised that it looks like I’ve walked into heaven; the entire room is white and clean, even the products are organized.
I started to run the bathtub and when it was filled to a reasonable amount, I decided to contact Ethina.
I tried quite a few times and it failed every single time, it’s like she just disappeared.
When I came out of the shower, I found an outfit placed on the bed, it was a tank top and a white graphic t-shirt, with a black oversized hoody and navy blue ripped jeans.
When I got dressed, I couldn’t help but wonder why Ethina wasn’t picking up, I started thinking the worst.
I swear if Gerald did something to her, he will truly be a dead man.
When I got downstairs I found Lucian on his laptop reading a book. I walked over to him and stood in front of him with my arms folded right below my chest, as I waited for him to sense my presence.
When he finally looked at me, he just stared for a while and smiled, “My clothes look good on you.” He said as he went back to reading.
“Hold on these are yours?” I said as I tugged the hem of the hoodie, “Well, considering the fact that apart from my grandfather, who stays in that library all day long, I’m the only other person who lives in this house. So yah, they’re mine.” He said as he looked at me through the top of his reading glasses, “You could’ve just said yes.” I mumbled to myself making sure that he didn’t hear me.
I took a seat next to him to see what he was reading , and as I read the title and the author, I couldn’t help but laugh to myself.
When he saw me covering my mouth, he looked at me in way, like he was wondering what I was thinking about.
He ignored me and went back to reading his book. I read with him as he scrolled and didn’t realize that when I wrote the book it was this interesting. As he scrolled I got more and more invested in it.
When he left to go and get a glass of water, I sat in his chair and continued reading it while he was drinking.
When he came back he just leaned on the door frame. I could feel him staring at me and ignored him as I continued reading.
After a few minutes he finally decided to get his laptop back, ” You seem to like this book a lot, have you read the author’s work before?” he said as he scrolled back to where he was.
“You could say that. By the way how do you have this book, it hasn’t been released yet?” I realized that I hadn’t yet released this book yet, and the only people who have access to it is the fiction editors at The WEB.co.
“Lets just say that I get early access to the best books in the city.” He said as he grabbed my hand and pulled me off the chair. “You could’ve just said move you know.” I said as I went back to my seat.“ Would you have listened?” he said as he went back to reading, “Well, no but I would’ve appreciated the effort.”
We continued reading and bonded a bit over our favorite authors and genres and before I knew it I dozed off as we were reading my book.
A few hours later, I woke up in Lucian's arms. I was curled up all cozy not knowing how the heck this had happened.
I didn’t move a muscle because I was afraid that he would wake up and push me away, and I’d probably fall off his lap.
My plan was going so well until I heard a low chuckle making Lucian’s chest vibrate, indicating that he was awake, “How long have you been awake?” I said feeling a slight blush flood my cheeks.
He stared at me, seemingly contemplating his answer, “Long enough.” He said as he continued staring at me. His eyes are a beautiful shade of red, they almost looked like they were glowing.
We looked at each other in silence until we heard the doorbell, “uh… I’ll get that.” he said as I quickly got off his lap.
After he left I was bored, so I decided to follow him. I found him in the kitchen talking to a girl.
She had shoulder length black and blue hair sat neatly in a half uphalf down style. Her back was facing me so I didn’t really get a good look at her.
She was complaining about something when she turned around and saw me.
“Riley?” I stared at the last person I’d ever thought it would be,
“Ethina?”
