The Devlin Empire is the name that was given to the kingdom that Devine took over after she killed the guardians.
As times changed and industrialisation grew, she had no other choice but to stay hidden from the humans.
Throughout the ages, traces of her kingdom have been found, especially in black operations.
“Am I missing something here?” Lucian said as he looked from Ethina to me.
“The DE stands for the Devlin Empire.” Lucian’s grandfather said as he came down the stairs.
He moved over to the coffee machine and brewed himself some coffee as we looked at him in silence.
When he settled down to his seat on thekitchenisland, he drank a sip of his coffee and cleared his throat.
“Ethina, nice to see you again.” He said as the side of his eyes crinkled when he smiled.
“It’s nice to see you too, grandpa.” Ethina said as she smiled at him.
He started flipping the pages of the book he brought until he landed on a map.
He made the book face the rest of us and told us to come closer.
At first glance, the map looked as normal as it could be, but when he cut his finger with a needle and touched the map, it started to show glowing red and green lines.
“You’re one of us.” I said incredulously as his blood shimmered a glistening red colour similar to his eyes.
“Yeah, yeah, that much was obvious. Keep up.” Ethina said as I nudged her in the side and urged Grandpa Blake to keep talking.
He looked at us and laughed as he stroked his salt and pepper beard.
“These lines will lead us to the closest pure breed descendants of Stephanie and Edwin- I assume you know who I’m talking about?” He said as he looked at Ethina and me.
We just nodded, and he continued. “ We need to also find the descendants of Alexander and Angelica. Ethina, will you do the honours?” Grandpa said as he handed Ethina a small knife.
She pierced her thumb with the tip of the knife and allowed her blood to drop onto the map.
Two more lines appeared, blue and white ones. “ You guys need to find these people. Lucian will go with Cassandra to find Stephanie’s and Edwin’s direct descendants, and Ethina will go with Riley and will find Alexander and Angelica’s.”
“Cassandra?” I asked as Lucian rolled his eyes. “My little sister.”
