Part 5

Aegon's Pov, 

Looking at the blood on my hands as I sit between the two walls, it's always been my hiding spot ever since I was little. God's I-I was so angry, and I wanted to hurt him..... to kill him but... but seeing him truly fall over with the blood leaving his body. I-I don't know if I wanted this, for him to really be gone.

"Aegon." The voice of mom whispers and I look up over the wall to see her standing there in the darkness of night with a large bag and two sword sheats. "I-I.... I did n-" 

"Not now, you need to leave the city... tonight, there's a ship it will take you to Essos." She says as she walks over and I quickly get up with a frown. "Leave..... why should I have to leave?" I ask her and she shakes her head with tears in her eyes. 

"They wish to send you to the wal-" 

"T-the wall.... but he.... he provoked me, he said you would die.... and that... that father would send me away and he would take the Throne...... and that he would shoot his seed into Alicent and Rhaenyra till the end of his life." I try to defend myself and she places the stuff down before taking my cheeks in hand. "I need you to listen to me Aegon, and I need you to listen good...... you are and always will be the firstborn son of Viserys Targaryen........ when he dies you will be the rightful heir, no matter what people say. Take this with you and don't ever forget that." She says as she holds the two sword sheaths out towards me and.... they belong to Darksister and Blackfyre. 

"One day you will return wearing the crown of Aegon the Conqueror, there is some food...... but mostly jewels....coin, whatever you might need to.... to find a place to settle into." She says as I put Darksister over my shoulder and strap Blackfyre to my hip. 

Taking the bag I open it and see Aegon's crown in it with indeed a bunch of coin and jewels. "I-I where should I go?" 

"Away from here....... y-you need to go Aegon." 

"What abou-" 

"It doesn't matter, if they catch you.... you will be sent to the wall, and if you desert from there dead is the penalty...... do you understand that?" She says with worry in her eyes and tears streaming down her face and I slowly nod my head. 

"O-okay." I softly say before she leans up and kisses me on my forehead for as long as she can while I can't stop the tears that run down my own face. "Be safe...... and remember, okay? Remember that you are a prince....... and one day a king." 

"I promise." I say and she walks over to a wall before pulling the torch down making a opening appear. "Maegor's secret tunnels........ follow the stairs down, and then the third hall will take you out of the castle and towards the beach..... there is a small boat there." She says as I pick the bag up. 

"I-I love you." 

"A-and I love you, always." She counters as she holds my cheek and rubs her thumb over my face before we pull apart and walk into the opening. I-I have to leave...... it's either this or... or go to the wall. Of course he would not see that... that Daemon called this upon himself. 

"Ow screw it." Mom says as she also walks into the opening and pulls a lever down making the wall close up again, feeling her take my hand she starts to drag me down the stairs. "W-what are you doing?!" 

"I'm going with you, I will not let you roam around in Essos all by yourself........I'm your mother, and I will go with you." 

"B-but your the queen, and.... and what of Rhaenyra." I say and she shakes her head as she continues to pull me along. "Rhaenyra will be safe here in King's Landing, I can not say the same about you....... it's my duty to keep my children safe, now come on."
