Just as I was putting on my shirt, I noticed a shadow out of the corner of my eye. My heart jumped as I spun around, a scream building in my throat that simmered to a startled yelp when I saw Cedric's shellshocked face.

"Ced!" I squealed, holding the shirt to my chest in a bid to provide myself some modesty.

His cheeks turned every bit cherry red before he placed his hand over his eyes and turned around, facing the wall and putting his back towards me. At that point, I was certain my blushing cheeks matched his.

"I am so sorry," he blurted out, his voice wavering. "I didn't see anything. I promise."

I was quick to don the red shirt, hoping it didn't perfectly match my flushed face.

"You scared the daylights out of me," I said to him, breathing out a nervous laugh. "You can turn around. I'm decent now."

He breathed a visible sigh of relief, his shoulders slumping forward before he spun on his heels and offered me a glorious smile that made his grey eyes dance.

"The red bra was lovely," he teased with a wink.

My blush spread to the tips of my ears as my jaw went slack. "Ced!" My hands flew to my reddened cheeks, shaking my head in horror and embarrassment. "You said you didn't see anything!"

He shrugged nonchalantly, his grin growing. "It's no different than a bathing suit. Relax."

I had to remind myself that it was all in my head. Otherwise, I literally might die of embarrassment.

"You're maddening at times." I chuckled, running a brush through my hair as I took note of his refreshed appearance. "You look much better."

He nodded, putting his hands in his pockets. "I feel much better as well."

A soft smile flitted to my lips. "I'm glad."

The sound of my mother's voice came from downstairs. "Elle! There's someone here to see you!"

Cedric's confused expression matched my own. My only friends that knew where I lived were Edward and Alice. And if it was Edward coming for a visit, my mom would've had a heart attack on sight. So, I was guessing it was the latter.

"I'll be back," I said to Ced before making my way downstairs.

My mom was grinning from ear to ear in the kitchen, sipping on a cup of coffee. "He's really cute."

He? My brows flew up my forehead.

"He's waiting on the porch. I invited him inside, but he seems to be in a bit of a hurry."

I was so lost.

"Thanks, mom."

I flashed her a gracious smile as I high tailed it towards the front door, my mouth falling open when I came face to face with Lonnie.
