Nia Nal was nothing if not determined. After the kiss in the hospital, she knew her feelings for Brainy were real. But when he told her he couldn't date her, that only made her more determined to prove him wrong. She wasn't about to let a little logic stand in her way, even if she was up against a twelfth-level intellect.

So, Nia started flirting with him in her own unique way—by using cheesy science and math pick-up lines.

One day, as they were working together at the Tower, Nia glanced over at Brainy and smirked. "Are you made of copper and tellurium? Because you're Cu-Te."

Brainy looked up from his work, raising an eyebrow. "Actually, Nia, copper and tellurium are elements that do not naturally combine in a way that would result in a stable compound. Moreover, the human body is composed of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, and sulfur primarily, so—"

Nia rolled her eyes, cutting him off. "Brainy, it's a pick-up line, not a chemistry lesson."

But that didn't stop her from trying again the next day.

"Hey, Brainy, are you a 90-degree angle? Because you're looking right!"

He didn't even look up this time. "Nia, a right angle is simply one that measures 90 degrees. While I appreciate the sentiment, the angle has no bearing on physical appearance."

Nia huffed, crossing her arms. "Okay, what about this—Are you a black hole? Because you're irresistibly attractive!"

Brainy finally looked at her, his expression softening just a bit. "Nia, while black holes do have an immense gravitational pull, they are also incredibly dangerous. Approaching one would result in a catastrophic event known as spaghettification."

She stared at him, exasperated. "Seriously, Brainy?"

But despite the playful banter, Nia was getting frustrated. No matter what she tried, Brainy deflected her advances with cold, hard logic. She had kissed him, flirted with him—what else was she supposed to do?

Finally, one day, she'd had enough. Marching up to him as he was working on yet another gadget, she planted herself firmly in front of him, hands on her hips. "Alright, Brainiac 5, I've tried kissing you, and now I've tried flirting with you. What else do I need to do to get you to date me?" she demanded, her frustration bubbling over.

Brainy looked at her, taken aback by her sudden outburst. "Nia, I... I can't date you. It's not because I don't want to. It's because I'm afraid you'll get hurt. I'm doing this to protect you."

Nia's eyes blazed with a mixture of anger and desperation. "I don't want to be protected, Brainy! I want you, you stupid pop-tart!"

He stood there, stunned by her words. For a moment, he didn't know what to say, didn't know how to respond. But then, something shifted. The logic that had been his shield crumbled, and for the first time, he allowed himself to feel what he'd been trying so hard to suppress.

A smile tugged at the corners of his lips, and then he did something that surprised them both—he laughed. A warm, genuine laugh that seemed to melt away all the tension in the room.

He stepped closer to her, his expression softening as he reached out to gently cup her cheek. "You're incredible, Nia," he whispered, his voice filled with a tenderness she hadn't heard before. "I don't deserve you."

She leaned into his touch, her anger fading as she looked up into his eyes. "You don't get to decide that, Brainy. I do. And I choose you."

He didn't need any more convincing. With a soft smile, he closed the distance between them, capturing her lips in a kiss that was both sweet and passionate, filled with all the emotions he'd been holding back for so long. Nia melted into him, wrapping her arms around his neck as she deepened the kiss, finally feeling the warmth she had been craving.

When they finally pulled apart, both of them were breathless, but there was a new lightness in the air. Brainy rested his forehead against hers, a soft smile playing on his lips. "You win, Dream Girl," he murmured affectionately. "I'm yours."

Nia grinned, her heart swelling with joy. "Good, because I wasn't planning on giving up."

As they stood there, wrapped up in each other, Nia knew that this was only the beginning. They had faced obstacles, but now, they were ready to face the future together, as partners and as something more—something beautiful and full of love.
