Avi creeped out towards a deer grazing in the woods. She had to be perfectly silent so as not to spook it. She slowly raised her bow. Any loud noise would attract the zombies. She strung her arrow, her eye on her mark. Aim.. Hold-

"What the hell are you doing?"

Avi jumped and missed her shot. The deer looked up at her and bolted away, and she cursed under her breath.

"Great. Thanks Issac."

"Sorry, I didn't know you were hunting." Issac chuckled as he hopped down from his high ground log. Issac was almost 16. Avi still couldn't believe it had been five years since she met the kid.

"Does your sister know you're out here bud?" She sighed as she packed her stuff up.

"Yeah, but she seemed pretty out of it."

"We all know what today is, so it's not a surprise..." Avi lifted her bag over her shoulder and looked around.

"Are you gonna see his grave?"

Avi stopped for a moment, contemplating the question.

"I don't know yet. Let's go home, come on. It's not safe out here."

She sighed as she tapped his shoulder and handed him a bag to carry. After a long walk back to the base of operations, Avi set down her catches of the day by the fire where trixy was boiling some water for the soup.

"Someone's been busy." She smiled as she stood up to kiss Avi.

"Well someone's gotta do the hunting. And I don't trust the kid with a bow and arrow." She responded with a light chuckle.

"Hey! I take offense to that!" Issac laughed as he set up the base defenses for the night.

Avi smiled and looked over at the empty tent in front of her. She paused and pulled away from trixy as she walked to her own tent.

Trixy looked over at Issac and Max, who was busy carving more arrows. Max sighed and set down the half carved arrow in his hand.

"I'll talk to her. Issac, you handle your sister. She's in her tent staring at his picture again."

"Got it, thanks man." Issac said as the two walked off in the opposing directions while Trix stayed put to handle dinner.

Avi was sitting in her tent with a picture in her hands. It was a picture of her and everyone else in the sanctuary. Before it was overrun. She ran her fingers over the picture and sighed.

"You fool... Why did you have to be such a martar." She muttered and set down the picture. She wiped away a few stray tears just in time for Max to walk in. She looked at her big brother and sniffled slightly. "I'm fine, it's just allergies."

"We both know you suck at lying." Max smiled and sat down beside her. "This is hard on all of us Avi."

"It should've been me that stayed behind, I was in charge of them. I was responsible for keeping them alive."

"He made his choice and you couldn't change that if you tried."

"He jumped into a horde! I had him, right there in my hands..!" She snapped, rising to her feet and spinning on her heel to face him. "I could've held him, I could've held on for just a little longer-"

"Avi, face it! Danny's dead, there's no way you could've saved him. He made the choice to be a martar and save you."

Avi stopped and clenched her fists. Tears began to seep through her defenses, and she clenched her jaw as she stormed out of the tent. Max sighed and watched as she grabbed her stuff and walked out of the camp. She'd be back, she just needed to blow off steam.

"Trix. You're up." He said, motioning his head towards Avi for her to follow.

Trixy nodded and stood from her spot, grabbing her bag to follow behind Avi. As they walked through the snow, trixy watched as Avi approached a grave.

"Hey Daniel..."
