Dragons and Oni

I should not rush this fic like the last one, but my God. It's rent free in my head now. Well, anyway, I'm gonna go do my other fic and return to this one for chapter 5. Hmmmm, I gotta introduce them as well, chapter 5... .the one with a dragon hopefully. Also I just stop the chapters where it feels like it needs to end off at, so long and short ones are not planned for how big or small. I'm just saying, cuz I noticed it being a thing I do.

Jay looks at the bright police tape around the mansion. 

“Last time I was here….” Nya pats Jay's shaking back and Jay goes forward and sees the police turn to them. 

“The ninja.. .where's the green, red, and robot one?” 

“They're busy, but we heard there was a murder here and may we help?” Nya asks and the policeman smiles. 

“Sure, we're dead on ends, but do wear gloves and things to cover your feet and hands.. .I don't want to accidentally arrest you all.” Nya and Jay look away awkwardly and they get gloves, and head inside. 

Jay's eyes widen and he shakes away a memory of Nadakhan, and he looks at claw scratches engraved into the white walls, and the thrown sofa, smashed TV, and shattered plant vases.

“Was it like this last time?” Cole leans in to ask and Jay walks up to a bunch of numbered things on the floor. His eyes go right to the outline of liquid, a big outline, and then to a man investigating with a tired face. 

“Hello.” The man looks at Jay and he stops writing. 

“The ninja, do any of you recognize anything about this crime?” Jay gives the crime a more malcontent look and Nya comes over. 

“We do not.” 

“The claw marks could have been an animal, but that's all I got.” Cole says and the detective eyes Jay's face. 

“What is you're connection to Mr. Gordon?” Jay lifts his bubbling head. 

“What?” 

The detective's brown eyes looked at Jay up and down. Shaking hands, legs are uneven, his face was a little scrunched, like he was hiding from this, and Jay's eyes peered here and there, in a daze. 

“My connection… .I know he is a big fan of mine and we are the protectors of Ninjago, so we were informed about this.” The detective smiles. 

“We only informed Jay Gordon and Mr. Gordon's business partners… .so, what is the connection?” Jay opened his mouth slightly. 

“Do we even need to tell you now?” Cole asks as he walks up to his friend. 

“No, I was wondering why you were all here… .this hasn't even been released to the public yet.” The detective then looks at the crime scene more. 

“So, do you have any leads?” Jay asks and the man nods. 

“We know something, likely one of Ninjago's former villains or a beast came and attacked him. The blood led from his bedroom to here, and his window was broken into… .but it's still a mystery as to why the place was then trashed and destroyed… .the current theory is the perpetrator was trying to find money.” Jay nods and Nya comes up. 

“Can we look at cameras?” 

“We tried that, but all we got was pitch black screens.” Cole shudders. 

“Pitch black?” The man nods and Cole looks at the claw marks again, and rubs his arm as suddenly his head ached again. 

“Do you think it could have been an Oni?” The detective looks over and shakes his head. 

“Cole, we got rid of them.” Nya says and Cole breathes out. 

“So what other beast do we know can do that?”

Lloyd looks up at the medical ceiling and then at Zane and Pixel. 

“You can sit up.” Lloyd flinched, using his arms to lift himself. Pixel goes to the computer and brings up Lloyd's x-rays. Wu gives his nephew a small smile.. .and Kai was just also eyeing the x-ray. 

“That's a lot of bone scars.” He whispers, which Lloyd looks over upon hearing. He then glances at his skeleton and tries getting up, but Wu places his hands in front of him and goes in his place. 

(Yeah, don't let me see… .good idea) Lloyd again tries standing, but his legs give out and he catches himself with a nearby medical desk. He looks over at everyone still talking and he starts walking away, pain be damned. He stumbled around, using the walls and heads to the training yard. 

“Lloyd!” Kai rushes to the younger and Lloyd feels his lip lift and Kai backs away as Lloyd immediately looks down in embarrassment. 

“Did you just growl at me?” Lloyd feels where his fangs are coming in. 

“I.. .guess?” Kai puts his arm over Lloyd's sore shoulders. 

“Let's get back inside.” 

“I don't want to!” Lloyd protested with his lisp and Kai looked as the teen began to warble. 

“Lloyd.” Lloyd growls again and walks away, and Kai only watches as Lloyd stumbled to a the training court and fell. 

*sigh* 

“Come on, I got you buddy.” Kai picks the green ninja back up and Lloyd eyed the sky. 

“I can't walk, I can't train, what the fuck am I good for?” Kai stops and looks at his pained brother. 

“You know you're more than that right?” Lloyd lowers his head and Kai sighs. 

“You deserve a# much rest as the others, now do you want me to make you a sundae for your teeth?” Lloyd looks down. 

“I'll add candy.” Lloyd smiles a little. 

“There you go.” And like that they enter the kitchen and Kai tries to make Lloyd a frozen treat. And then everyone walked in, looking at Lloyd concerned. 

“He went for a stroll.” Kai answers and Zane comes to help Kai make the treat. 

“This is a very effective way to handle the teeth situation.” 

Wu sits down by his nephew and Pixel meanwhile messages Lloyd's back. 

“Thanks.” Pixel nods as she then goes onto speak about how this should possibly aid later when the wings come out. Lloyd though, could care less, as it practically made him numb to it all.

Jay looks back at the mansion as they leave. 

“Can't believe they knew nothing.” Nya says and Jay nods as he gets to walking. 

“I still believe it was an Oni.” Cole's arms crossed and Nya shakes her head and turns to her Yin. 

“Are you doing ok?” Jay nods as a response again and Nya looks to Cole. 

“Jay?” Jay glances at Cole. 

“I'm fine, but let's wait for more information.” Nya looks at him with lowered eyelids. 

“Let's get our minds off this, I think I saw an arcade on our way here.” Cole smiles and Jay shakes his head. 

“I think I'm gonna go to bed once we get back.” Nya and Cole's eyes widen. 

“Jay.” Cole opens his mouth, but soon closes it. 

“Alright, whatever helps, buddy.”
