Dragons and Oni

I had fun with this one. And was debating to post it as it is very critical for this one. I was also debating on heading back on the path of Jay's family history, which I should do especially after this one. ;)

Cole walks up to the door. 

*thud* 

“Jay, are you ok.. .you've been sleeping all morning!” Cole listens to a few shuffles. 

“Y.yeah! But don't come in!” 

“I won't, but breakfast is ready.” Cole looks at the door and closes his eyes as a pain crosses his head. 

“I'll be out soon!” Cole listens to Jay's shaking voice and goes. 

(He is probably upset from yesterday) He thinks and starts remembering the scratches engraved on the walls. The scratches in that mansion, they looked like the ones the Oni left in the city. 

(Was I the only one to see those?) He squinted his aching eyes and suddenly walked into the smoke. 

“Huh?” His breath then caught the darkness and he shook as a cold hand touched him. Its big fangs glistened in his purple eyes and Cole lifted his fist and struck. Knocking the Oni down and nearly kicks it, but feels something hot grab his arms and shuts his eyes. 

“Cole!” Cole's eyes opened and he looked down at Lloyd getting back up. 

“I'm sorry, Lloyd!” Lloyd rubs his stomach. 

“Are you ok?” Lloyd asks and Cole only stares at his friend, his brother, he just punched him, and he is asking him! Kai lets go of Cole's arms. 

“What happened?” Lloyd looks at Cole and then Cole heads off. 

“Cole!” Cole sprints to his room and slams the door, locks it, and the darkness comes back immediately making his head hurt more. Like almost akin to having it drilled into. Cole gripped his head and got down, and felt a few vibrations on the floor. His purple eyes go to the streets, and his heart stops… .they are marching, their purple streaks glowing as they approach him again! 

“I'm safe in my driller.” He says and then watches the oni jump onto his vehicle and hit the drill button again, but they instead lift his glass. 

“NO!” The oni grabbed his throat and tossed him into a building with a scratch engraved on it. Cole's eyes then tried closing as his breath began getting clogged. The oni stepped forward, its staff towering over him and bring it closer to him, and grins a toothy grin. 

“I sense very little in him, but if we're to return we need one.” Cole's eyes watched as the cold staff touched in between his eyes, and soon a quake level of pain entered his head. The oni smiled at his pain and he looked at his driller. 

“I need to leave!” He sits himself up and crawls to his driller and the Oni watches him. As he pathetically makes his way, somehow not coughing anymore. His head still ached, but he at least got in with no problems, and closed the hatch. The oni kept their eyes on him and Cole hits the gas with an angrier face than before, and runs them over, well almost, they unfortunately faded into the dark as he soon then set his course to the Monastery. 

“Cole!” His eyes blink and the pain subsided as he then looks around his room, trashed. 

“What the-” 

“Cole!” Cole goes to his door and unlocks it, and immediately Lloyd rushes in with Kai, now accompanied by Nya and Zane too. 

“Are you ok?” Nya asks and Zane looks around at Cole's room. 

“Cole, do you want to talk about it?” Lloyd asks and Cole just gives him a deep stare as his head begins aching again. 

“I'm fine.” 

“Your room is a mess and you were yelling!” Kai shouts and Cole breathes in. 

“Really Cole, that wasn't normal…” Lloyd says and Cole huffs. 

“I just have a really bad headache.” 

“Headaches don't normally occur without reason, want me to scan it, especially since it seemed to have caused a hallucination state?” Zane asks and Cole shakes his head. 

“I'm good.. .just got spooked is all.” Kai shakes his head. 

“You hit Lloyd!” 

“Yeah, I'm really sorry I did that.” Cole frowns at Lloyd who shrugged and stared at Cole in the eyes, causing Cole's headache to worsen. Cole grabbed his head. 

“Can you guys leave, please, my head.” Cole begins to actually tear up at the pain and Nya, Kai, and Lloyd leave. Though Lloyd gives Cole's eyes a glance again. Zane remained in the room and Cole shoved him out. 

“I don't need a scan!” He then slams his door and locks it again. He grabbed his head and slinked to the floor as the pain continued. 

“Go away.” He says and sniffs as it just keeps going and going. Sending a deep pressure like an earthquake through his skull. Zane remained outside his room and sat down. 

“I will wait.” Cole crawls away from his door where he heard Zane and gets behind his bed as shadows begin looming. 

“It's time.” Cole's head lifts to the voice and grips his head again as another sharp pain attacks. 

“Are you sure this will work, he has very little.” 

“It will, look at the hybrid.” Cole's eyes watered as then suddenly a worse pain occurs and he lets out a shout. He listens to Zane getting up. Cole, though, returns to the shadows and removes his hand from his less painful head. He then looks at the deep crimson dripping down his hand. It shook and his eyes watered at a sudden realization. 

“Nononono!” He grabs his blanket from his bed and dragged it over his now two bumped head.

Jay looks out into the hallway and keeps his cover over his back as he walks to Cole's door. 

“Are you ok, I heard you scream!” Cole doesn't answer, but Jay can hear a light cry. Jay then feels his back fidget and looks at the door. 

“I'll be here when you want to talk.” He heads to the restroom, dragging the bloody cover with him, and shuts the door. He then immediately removes the cover and stares at the bloody new appendages. 

“Geez, how does this even happen? .I didn't pluck my finger on a dragon fang right?” He mutters and turns on the shower. 

*thuds* 

“Jay, are you awake?” His appendages flapped and soon enough he listens to everything in the cabinet falling. 

“Shit.” 

“Jay?” 

“Yeah, I'm fine Nya, just barely awake!” 

“Alright, I put you and Cole's food in the microwave!” Jay gave the door a warm smile. 

“Thank you.” And he hears her off as he hops in and suddenly a thought enters his head. 

(Cole didn't eat)
