"So, you like burgers?" Tyler asks me and I nod, putting my hands in my pockets. "I know just where to bring you."

Tyler opens the door to his huge truck and helps me in before closing the door behind me. I buckle in my seatbelt and sigh, preparing myself for the night.

"Thanks for this, it's nice of you even though you're an asshole." I joke and he just laugh, putting on his own seatbelt.

"It's no problem, I'm hungry too." He starts the engine and begins to reverse the car. "Tell me more about yourself, beautiful."

"Stop doing that, Tyler."

"Oh come on, what is it this time?" He jokingly groans.

"Stop calling me beautiful."

"Y/N, one thing you'll learn about me, sooner or later, is that I call it like I see it. Tornado or not." Tyler says, his left hand on one wheel and his right hand on the console.

My stomach does flips as I look over at him, his words like sweet whiskey and the way he looks at the road. Lord have mercy.

"Whatever."

"No, not whatever. You really are beautiful and trust me, I hate myself every time I remember that you're engaged but what you have is not a relationship, sweetheart. No man should treat a woman like that, especially not an amazing woman like you."

"He's all I got. I've never been the girl to get all the guys. Not in high school and not now." I sigh.

"Maybe not all the guys but certainly this guy." His right hand makes its way from the console to my thigh and although I should push him away and tell him I'm engaged, I don't.

"Yeah ahaha, good joke." I say sarcastically.

"I'm serious, you need time stop putting yourself down. You really are stunning, you have beautiful eyes that are always so bright and happy and your beautiful hair that flows down like a waterfall. Then there is your beautiful smile that makes everyone know they're safe. And then, of course, there's your beautiful brown skin that shines when the sun shines on you just right. You're gonna get me in big trouble with that Fiancé of yours but it's worth it."

Tears well up in my eyes as he continues to compliment me and for some reason, when he says it, I know he's right and I believe him.

"C'mon, no more tears." Tyler whispers softly as he wipes my tears, his eyes briefly moving from the road. He takes my hand and kisses it before putting it down again to take a sharp left to a diner.

My stomach hurts from the coming and going of the butterflies and my heart hurts from its strings being pulled at.

"Is this it?" I say as I look at the building with a large neon sign on the front of it saying 'open'.

"Don't knock it till you try it, trouble. It's good." I blush at his nickname for me as Tyler jumps out of the car and runs over to open my door for me.

After lending me a hand and closing the door behind me, we walk into the diner side by side with our hands briefly touching sometimes, sending shocks through our bodies.

As we step into the diner, I'm shocked at the sight to my left. There sits Javi and Kate, holding hands as they eat and share a milkshake like teenagers. Javi's back is turned to me and Kate is too entranced by Javi to even notice Tyler and I.

"Can I get you sweeties anything?" I hear a kind lady ask us but I can't move or talk because I'm absolutely petrified.

"Y/N?" Tyler says, his hands on my cheek to see if I'm okay before he looks in the direction I'm looking in. Just then, Javi leans in and kisses Kate. "Oh my god."

Tyler's hands leave my face as he turns around to rush over to Javi but I grab his wrist, shaking my head as my lip trembles. Tyler sighs and takes me outside the diner.

As soon as the wind hits me, I start crying. How did I not expect this? She's her and I'm me.

"I'm so sorry, baby." Tyler says as he hugs me, one hand wrapped around my shoulder as the other one holds my head.

I lay my head in the crook of his neck while I cry and hold onto him for dear life. I never realised how much a hug could comfort you but then again, it's more about the person hugging you.

"Thank you, Tyler." I say as I pull apart from him.

"You don't have to thank me, I'm gonna be here for you." Tyler wipes the corners of my eyes, his thumb then resting on my bottom lip. "You wanna go somewhere that will cheer you up?"

"Yeah, I'd like that. I don't think I can stay here any longer than I have to." Tyler laughs a bit at my failed attempt at humour and opens the car door for me.

I get in and close the door myself as he gets into his side of the car and turns it on.

"What do all these buttons do?" I ask

"Well, they're red for a reason." He says and starts driving us to wherever the hell he's going.

"Yeah, okay Mr Danger."

"Mr Danger? Really? Okay. Mrs Trouble."

"I'm not a Mrs anymore." I sigh and look at my engagement ring.

Without a second thought, I roll down the window and yank off the engagement ring, throwing it out into the fields of wheat.

"Now that's what I'm talking about." Tyler laughs and I roll my eyes, cranking up the radio as I hear 'Getaway Car' come on.

Both Tyler and I hum along to the lyrics and I smile at how much my situation resembles the song.

"Are we there yet?" I ask him and he laughs.

"Yes, ma'am." He says.
