Y/N'S POV

'Javi, I brought you and the crew some lunch.' I yell out as I jump out of the passenger seat of my car with the large bag of food.

Everyone rushes over and takes a box of food each with the utensils I tapped on them too. Javi comes over to me last and kisses my cheek.

'Thank you for coming but you really didn't have to.' Javi says, taking his food from the bag and walking over to the other guys.

I sigh and look down on my engagement ring he had given me a little over a year ago yet there was no plan being made for the wedding itself.

'You got any of that left, darlin'?' I hear a man say from above me and I look behind to see him to see at least 5 more people.

'Sure, I always have extra.' I smile at him and to be completely honest, I'm enamoured with the way he looks down at me, either hand on his hips and his cowboy hat tipped just right.

I hand out the extras to the people behind him first and when it came to his, I realised that there was only one left, my one. Regardless, I take out the box and hand it to him. His friends all thank me and walk away but he stays.

'But that was your food, wasn't it?' He asks but we both know the answer to it so I just shrug.

'I was supposed to eat with my Fiancé but he's gone off with his friends so I'm alright.' I smile through my sadness.

'No, c'mon, I'm not gonna starve a woman to feed myself. We can share.' The man takes me by the wrist and walks over to a large red truck.

He puts the food near the front window and pats the dusty hood of the truck, indicating that I should sit up on top of it I look at him a little unsure to which he sighs playfully, rolling his eyes.

'Now, excuse me for this.' He says when he grabs my hips and lifts me up onto the trucks before hauling himself up beside me. He grabs the food from behind us and opens it, his eyes gawking at my homemade lasagna. 'Smells amazing.'

'Thank you.' I smile at him, a blush creeping up on my cheeks as he winks at me. 'What's your name?'

'Tyler Owens.' He says, taking a large bite of the lasagna before passing over the fork to me. 'And yours?'

'Y/N. It's nice to meet you, Tyler Owens.' I laugh, I take a big bite of my lasagna and as I close my mouth, I realise I must have bitten off more than I can handle, cheese on the sides of my face.

He wipes off the cheese with his thumb and laughs, licking it off his thumb now. He takes the fork from my hand and takes a bite.

'Now, do I gotta call you Mrs. Y/N Lopez or not?'

'No no, just Y/N is fine.'

'Huh.. you don't wanna be a Mrs or you don't want to be a Lopez? Which is it?'

'I'm not so sure it's any of your business, Tyler Owens.' I say but before he can respond I continue. 'No, I'm definitely sure now. It really isn't.'

'All right, she got claws. I like that, Mrs Trouble.' He teases and I just roll my eyes playfully like he did when I originally didn't want to get up on the truck. "

'You from Oklahoma?'

'Not at all, I'm from Arizona.'

'Long way from home, aren't ya?'

'Suppose so. I moved out here for college and I never wanted to leave. Well unless I had to.' I shrug.

Tyler doesn't say anything, he just sits there nodding to himself and kicking his feet back and forth. He sighs as he holds out the food to me so I can take a bite.

'What? Why'd you look like I just kicked a puppy?' I ask, bumping my shoulder to his.

'Nothing, nothing at all.' He says and looks at me as I try to get a good spoonful of lasagna. 'You're just real beautiful.'

'My Fiancé thinks so too.' I tease.

'That why he ain't here eating with you?' As soon as the words came out of his mouth, his expression changed and he looked regretful. 'I'm so sorry, Y/N, I didn't mean to say that.'

'I think I've had enough of this lasagna. Thanks for sharing.' I sigh, putting down the fork in the box and hopping off the truck, patting the back of my trousers to get off the dust.
'I'm sure I'll see you around.'

With that, I walk away but I can hear Tyler follow close behind me. His hand touches my shoulder and I turn around to scowl at him.

'I didn't mean it like that, Y/N, please.'

'I should have listened to Javi when he said you were dangerous." I nudge my shoulder away and get into my car, reversing out of the parking lot and driving off to god knows where.

My heart shouldn't be going this fast I think. He was right, Javi always took me for granted. Whenever I'd drive over to his workplace with new clothes or a blanket to stay with him during the late nights, he'd never even say thank you. Not in a way he means it anyway.

Javi is always so concerned about my appearance and how others saw us, his friends often made rude or inappropriate remarks about my body too. Despite telling Javi about it, he always said 'it's just them including you'.

But Tyler, god Tyler, he just sees me and makes me laugh and feel all fluffy inside. And when he called me beautiful, I really felt it. It's wrong. It is dangerous but it's also taking everything in me not to go back to him.
