A few weeks had passed since Nazia's arrival in Bangkok. She had slowly adjusted to her new life, but occasional homesickness lingered. To combat this, she ensured regular video calls with her parents during weekends.
On this Monday morning, Financial Accounting was her first class. Nazia got dressed and joined Tanya for breakfast. "Good morning, Naz," Tanya said with a smile. "Morning, Tani," Nazia replied.
"Are you ready for the Financial Accounting class test?" Tanya asked. "I'm ready, but some concepts still confuse me," Nazia admitted. "Don't worry, you got this, Naz," Tanya reassured her.
As they made their way to the lecture room, Professor Lukas entered. "Good morning, class. Ready for today's test?" he asked, handing out the class tests. His gaze met Nazia's, and he smiled before moving on.
"Okay, class, you may begin. You have thirty minutes to complete the test," Professor Lukas said in his smooth voice. Nazia skimmed through the questions and started answering.
After thirty minutes, Professor Lukas announced, "Time's up, class. Please leave your tests on my desk." Nazia walked to the professor's desk to submit her test.
As the class dispersed, Professor Lukas asked, "Miss Nazia, please stay behind." Tanya and the others left, leaving Nazia alone with the professor.
" Nazia, I've noticed you struggle with some concepts. I can tutor you if you'd like," Professor Lukas offered. "Yes, I'd really appreciate that. I'm having trouble understanding financial accounting," Nazia replied.
"I can tutor you around 4 pm during the week. Would that be fine, Miss Nazia?" Professor Lukas asked. "My last lecture finishes around 3 pm, so that's perfect, Professor," Nazia replied.
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow, Nazia," Professor Lukas said. Nazia left the lecture room and joined Tanya. The bell rang, signaling the end of their Financial Accounting lecture.
As they walked out, Tanya asked, "So, why did Mr. Lukas ask you to stay behind, Nazia?" "He noticed my struggle with financial accounting and offered to tutor me," Nazia replied.
"Lucky girl, you get to spend more time with our handsome Professor!" Tanya said with a wink. Nazia's cheeks flushed slightly as she laughed. "It's just tutoring lessons, don't get any ideas, Tanya!"
